Is playing for West Ham a daunting prospect?
So,

Time and time again we read of players going to clubs who we presume to be 'lesser' in attractiveness and stature than us! Why is this? Is it the management that puts them off? Is it the two muppets who own our club who put them off? Or is it that we as fans are as fickle as fuck and are renowned for giving our own players a real hard time when they arent quite performing as well as they could and should? Let's face it; we moan like fuck all of the time! Perhaps we have expectations higher than we ought to have right now!

Playing for West Ham? No.

Playing for some of our 'supporters'? Yes.

West Ham United Football Club is a sick joke and has been for years. I think every cunt is in on the joke apart from the supporters.

Yeah I think Sturridge went to the Baggies as he thinks our all purpose non footballing stadium is SHIT...

FMOB Sold, age really is addling your fucking brain mate. You seem to be constantly repeating yourself! Nobody really likes the stadium, we all know it's not really suited to football. You don't have to continually and hourly fucking remind us!

Incredibly so. Seen as approaching Real Madrid levels.

Re: Is playing for West Ham a daunting prospect?
It's more likely that we actually didn't put an offer in for those players we perceive to have joined a lesser team.

Every media outlet and its desire to bombard us with 24 hours of transfer nothingness and speculation will make 2+2=5

In the case of Sturridge isn't he born and bred Brum/West Brom?

Re: Is playing for West Ham a daunting prospect?
If I were a football player that was decent and was being looked at by The Hammers and I watched the way West ham have been playing for the last two seasons I would think very carefully before joining West ham because as a team they never quite have any consistency almost like an unbalanced team.

I have a feeling that 90% of the players who do end up coming to West ham especially in the last three to five years do it for the money and very little else, that may have something to do with why they perform so poorly.

Re: Is playing for West Ham a daunting prospect?
I think prospective players are probably wary of the owners and where the club is going under them. Possibly agents advise them to steer clear.

Possibly we're portrayed as a tough crowd who might turn on the players, but that shouldn't really phase anyone with anything about them.

Don't think the stadium really plays a part in any prospective player's decision making.

Ultimately 'lesser' clubs might be offering them a better deal financially or guarantee playing time?

There are a number of reasons- I expect this is about Sturridge in particular, maybe we were offered him and passed? After all his injury history is pretty bad and we can't afford ANOTHER often unavailable player. Maybe Moyes didn't want him? Maybe we're just not in for a striker.

The only ones that really hurt are when the likes of Butland go to teams like Stoke for very reasonable prices. That does make you wonder.

Considering our wage bill, outside the top 6 there isn't a better club to play for.

Join us, live in London on a wage above most CL teams, with very little expectations to achieve anything.

Re: Is playing for West Ham a daunting prospect?
because the manager likes playing with strikers
because the manager said he'll play games
because the manager doesn't play negative football

sturridge wants to play at the world cup, he's not going to get their sitting on our bench with Moyes picking his six defenders and two holding players, is he?

1. Shit stadium
2. Shit training ground
3. Fucking shit lying cunt owners
4. Defeatist cunt manager
5. Limited squad
6. Likely to get slagged off by 3 if don’t start well
7. Low investment in playing staff
8. Fans with the hump

We’re probably the most undesirable team in the PL at the moment.

Why did Sturridge go for West Brom?

vision for the club and ambition is one thing but if it outweighs your ability then you have to move on..Thats from top to bottom.
