Never scores for us, then scores on his Swansea debut, couldn't make it up.

I'm really strugglin to see the point here. We bought a player on the usual terms and then, when he proved to be ineffective, sold him back on precisely the same terms as we bought him.

Great business getting rid of him, awful business not replacing him, see that's the real issue at this club.

Yes I know OTB. But surely you realise that when you promise a sign a "£20m- £25m striker in the previous window and then sign "£20m Ayew" on HP with minimal deposit a year later, the bullshit will come back and splatter all over you...

Just about all transfers are done in installments.

Re: Andre Ayew - sold £18mill + add ons
If what I read somewhere is true, and that Swansea's accounts showed that we bought Ayew on a big HP deal with Swansea, then we didn't ever pay anything like £20m and just got our repayments cancelled...

Shows how crazy football has become that someone like him can go for 20 million and then still command a similar fee after basically being fucking average for us.

Add-ons?

How much do we get if he turns back into a footballer?

They're going to need Ayew. Fer and Bony are out for the rest of the season.

Just think what we could have got for him if we had trained him to use his right foot.

Re: Andre Ayew - sold £18mill + add ons
Ayew has no role in the Moyes system.

Plan A is to set up as a counter attacking team. Sit deep, soak up pressure and then hit on the break.

You need fast players to do that, players who like to run at opponents and have an eye for goal.

Antonio, Lanzini, Arnautovic - all perfect for theis set up.

And Masuaku and Zabaleta to provide support out wide.

But what useful role can Ayew play? He's too slow, he lacks the confidence to beat his man and his passing is poor.

In a counter attack he would be about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

The club did the right thing and shipped him out.

Exactly Mart.

They just got back the money they spent 2 summers on our then record signing.
All it means is they've managed to spend even less money.

Sums it up for me.

This club is a complete mess.

W4H

Or 'That face'he made - which should only really be used in reaction to seeing a 30 yard screamer graze the woodwork- when shanking one inside the 6 yard box.

Missing from 5 inches v Liverpool last season was another highlight.

"Thank god we got money back."

Yeah, great isn't it? Really cracks me up every cunt rejoicing that 'we' (eh?) got 18 million for this shithouse. That money ain't likely to pop up with too many goals. And there's not too much chance any cunt will ever see the colour of it, either.

I am losing zero sleep over him going, nothing against him personally as in the right team with the right set up he will score goals

18m plus add ons is great business shame we never re-invested that in the bloke from Anderlecht

Re: Andre Ayew - sold £18mill + add ons
one of the most frustrating players ive had the misfortune to see- spurs away, his goal at palace, couple of others he was great= the rest of the time he looked like he'd never played football before- cant recall him ever actually getting past a player; always in the wrong place at the wrong time, and if i never see that stupid thumbs up every time he shanks the ball off the park , and that miserable excuse of a penalty which we knew he'd miss - it wont be a day too soon

strange they vae bony and ayew back innit

Re: Andre Ayew - sold £18mill + add ons
Has a tendency to score, even wehn playing crap. Like many of our recent signings maybe he was not utilised correctly or just didn´t fit in. Swansea clearly know how to utilise him and for sure he´ll do the business for them. Good job we got nearly all our money back for somebody who for us is ineffective.Sure as hell if he played every game for us as he will do for them he´d score 10 goals a season which is never a bad return.
I´ll wager he has at least 6 by the time the season is over...

Re: Andre Ayew - sold £18mill + add ons
On one hand, Ayew has been poor. Thank god we got money back.

On the other hand, we just sold our joint top scorer to relegation rivals with no replacement coming in.

Fucking circus.

5. Let's see how much they spend (wisely) in the close season.
