John Bagnel who plays Large in the film always had chewing gum in his pocket and would always generously offer it out after lunch. Lots of people started calling him "chewing gum John" then later "chewie" as it was less of a mouthful. On one occasion someone (who shall remain nameless) called him "cheesy" John corrected them by saying: "People are calling me chewie because I always have chewing gums, not cheesy, although I do like cheese!"

Although the guns look real they aren't, they are just really good replicas. One day on set Willy Thorne inquired: "Wow that gun look real, is it?" To which the director said: "No it's just a really good replica, it's great that it looks so real though, hopefully the audience will think it's authentic"
