John Charles
Not ours but the Welsh and Juventus legend, any of you older members see him play? I can't recall seeing him but I've heard a great deal about him, Juventus fans called him Il Gigante Buono, because of his fair play on the pitch.

Re: John Charles
Saw him score from the halfway line against Pompey, a gentle giant really nice guy.

Re: John Charles
I saw him play many times for Hereford United in the old Southern League.
My Granfather started to take me to Edgar Street when I was 8 or 9 in the late 1960’s.
Charles was so big they could hardly get a shirt to fit him, but head a ball? He was majestic and dominant up front and in defence. He didn’t move much, I guess he’d have been nearly 40, but a true giant in all senses.

No FC, before my time but I wish I had
CB and striker, immense physicality and brilliant with it - still revered by Juve to this day and they have had a few players since him
