"people of my ilk" What exactly does that mean then?

Do I have to explain the word ilk to you? And there was me thinking that gays were generally thought to be quite intelligent.

Oh and the rest of your post could be said straight back at you virtually every day of the week, old chap.

I’d like to applaud Sven for the work on this thread to date.

Re: BAFTAs
FC spot on mate. Unfortunately different time, different tastes. Mifune was in over 170 movies and was George Lucas original choice for Obi-Wan Kenobi. The guy was the ultimate screen hero.

As for Dunkirk. It’s a good film. But it’s more style. (Harry maybe.?) Over substance.

Re: BAFTAs
Not a big fan of Dunkirk

As far as films go, do take a look at any film with Toshiro Mifune in eg Ran, Rashomon, Yojimbo (Fistful of Dollars) Throne of Blood, the man is an acting giant, how he never got an Oscar absolutely astounds me, he is now my all time favourite actor

RIP Toshiro san

Perhaps they thought it was 'Done Kirk?'

Re: BAFTAs
Since when do gay men like war films?

Now if it had been a musical version of the evacuation starring Zac Ephron and Emma Stone with the troops doing high kicking numbers then that would have got the gay vote 😄

Re: BAFTAs
Dunkirk was all over the place. OK Nolan didn't want to use CGI but instead we got something which in no way portrayed the immensity of the evacuation. The end Spitfire scene was so cheezy.

Preferred Atonement.

"Dunkirk won fuck all because it’s a film about men, starring men and directed and produced by men."

So it got the gay vote then?

Dunkirk did win something. Might of been for Best Sound?

I think Eddie just has to face facts that Dunkirk is no Saving Private Ryan.... Gonks galore...

Re: BAFTAs

There's a bit more to it than that. It's a superb thriller with some excellent twists. It's beautifully shot and very well acted.

The naughty scenes were enjoyable too of course.

Lovely, ancient word, is ilk.

I just get sick of petty nasty little pricks like you B always trying to point score and insult someone on a football forum you've never met.
Pretty pathetic and BORING if truth be told. You carry on though if it helps you cope.

Best part of the night was the brilliant Kanneh Mason family playing a wonderful classical piece for the memoriam bit.

There was me thinking this board was for people to communicate, discuss things etc. I just find it strange that someone who gets all hysterical at name calling is quite happy to indulge in it himself. Still, it's unlike people of your ilk to be huge hypocrites....
