We don't seem to get the rub of the green much so in was in favour of VAR.
I think it can be implemented better but takes time.

It is not that VAR in itself is a bad idea it is just that the implementation in football has not been good.
Football does not lend itself naturally to VAR as there aren't as many breaks but it would help if the VAR booth was actually at the ground and (like rugby) has a TMO who talked the ref a lot.
That and showing the appropriate replay at the ground so people knew what the fuck was going on.

What I don't get is Sky can replay an incident and show whether the decision was correct within 30 seconds, why have VAR when Sky and even BBC Sport can do this. Stick a 4\\5th official in a box, much like rugby, then when needed the ref can call to him\\her for a decision. Sod all this VAR bollox.

Most of the decisions in cricket focus on about 2 square feet on the pitch.
NFL is so slow that taking minutes to look at something fits the game.
Tennis is all about balls being one side of a line or not.
Football needs to speed it up and wind back trying to look at every borderline decision.
They need to focus more on JUST correcting absolute howlers not looking at 38 replays to see if a toe is offside. Or if a ball brushed Harry Kane's shoulder

The goal line decision thing is brilliant. Utterly non-invasive and accurate.
Quite why the CL relays on those cunts on the goal line is beyond me. Is our system being used at the WC?

I don't understand why football doesn't copy those models instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. It is not difficult.

It hasn't, but it has slowed the game down to snails pace on numerous occasions often with the wrong final decision & resulting in games going on for an extra 5 to 10 mins
Goal line decisions fine
Serious misdemeanors can be dealt with retrospectively anyway as there are so many cameras about nowadays
Even ex-professionals can't agree on diving or simulation either so what's the point?

It will come eventually though obviously it still needs a lot of work.
The ‘popular’ clubs like Man U and Liverpool can only hold out so long before the advantage of unconcious or concious bias they enjoy is removed.
We saw probably the biggest matches in England this season between Man City and Liverpool decided by 3 goals going Liverpool’s way with wrong decisions that could have been resolved in 30secs.
We would have had 2 more Pts from each of our games at Bournemouth and Chelsea with VAR.
Have we gained from decisions that should have been overturned?

There is a league table where game changing decisions are analysed and big teams like Man Utd consistently are near the top and us near the bottom for benefiting from wrong decisions. Of course the big teams don't want it.
