The man with the corner flag.
Following on from what aka Ernie said I actually think we have a lot to thank this fella for.

A lifelong fan and season ticket holder, not that I know him, his frustrations boiled over and his passion was too much.

I think that he should write to the board and apologise for his actions and that we should in some way help him get his ban over turned.

Throwing coins is more difficult to defend but he did something that was semi part of a bit of history, 're the bind scheme.

Now is the time to come together as this is a brilliant appointment as manager and hopefully shows a shift in change.

If so I'm happy to put my difference of opinion aside with the board if they let a true football man take care of the football.

Bring back the man with the flag...

This could be a midget-given chance to reunite the fans again after the march was sabotaged.

No need to go anywhere, but plenty of opportunities to swamp social media with support (if it's not dragging you away from Angry Birds, that is).

Given that the authorities also read these sites, any hint of financial support should be avoided, so as to not give the chance for the maximum fine to be levied.

Something like a "Bond Protest Tribute Support Group" label will allow activities to take place that cannot, by the authorities, be tied to the current unrest.

Why not boycott the money grubbing owners?

Ha ha Oldie in being a cunt SHOKA
Only amazed he hasn't worked in a Jewish conspiracy angle to this, yet.

Why don't we go to the court and support this guy, could embarrass Sullivan some more. Protest outside maybe?

Re: The man with the corner flag.
Perhaps it was him acting like he didn't know what to do the moment he got on the pitch and then the ad hoc nature of grabbing a flag after looking rather confused as to what to do once on the pitch that made me think that way, coupled with him saying exactly as I described above.

The fact he is the one and same fella who repeated his actions of 1993 certainly changes the nature of his intent and how it appeared at the time to be completely ad hoc and random.

Still, if he paused for a moment to balance a bottle of booze on his arse like kim kardashian had it would probably make Time Magazine's most iconic image of this year.

Lets not lose focus on this, this is only step 1 of 2, the board need to back Pellegrini with money and Sullivan needs to step away from transfers or we end up with more Jordan Hugill's or past it players looking to top up their pension fund.

"He basically ran onto the pitch, had no idea what he was doing the moment he got on the pitch, then wandered up to the nearest flag grabbed it and wandered aimlessly across the pitch, it doesn't really have any effect on anything much."

Really??

He did exactly the same thing back in '93 when he protested against the Bond Scheme. So what he did he knew exactly what he was doing. And his actions by holding the flag aloft drew everyone's attention back to that protest against the Bonds Scheme which, in the end, the fans won.

So you obviously don't know your history and that is why the image of him is not iconic to you. But to a lot of West Ham fans it is iconic as it is an image of fan power.

I won't charge you for this history lesson.

I am free 4th June Chav, give us the details and let's see who is about and give this guy a bit of support.

He should be called in by the club for a sit down for them to learn what this club means and be part of a team of fans that helps the board understand and interact.

Funny how they bring in the old ICF for a cup of tea and biscuits and ban a guy with a corner flag.....

"You are wrong Golden Oldie. He knew exactly what he was doing."
Obviously he never said so at the time, and he did indeed appear to not really 'have a plan' when he first got on the pitch which was my only point.
If as you say he did this evoking the memories of the Bond Scheme protest, then perhaps you as a friend should avoid telling everyone to undermine his one and only court defence.

Meanwhile, Gold Sullivan and Brady couldn't give a fuck what any of us think, say or do as long as we keep on filling their pockets and buying whatever shit they serve up.

You are wrong Golden Oldie. He knew exactly what he was doing.-But if the police and the Court think it pre-meditated the penalties are higher.-hence his comments.
by the same count he will probably apologise in Court but I doubt very much he will mean it.

Again, this doesn't match what he said at the time of the event.

Good luck to him, hopefully he inspires groups of disconcerted fans to finally boycott the club and actually do something that will make the owners react accordingly.

Retrospectively he may be claiming this, his initial response was that he didn't really know what to do the moment he began the move.

Look if you really want to effect change, then do what it took Arsenal fans years to accidentally realise.
Years and years of abuse, campaigning, protests etc meant fuck all, the very moment the fans decided to protest with their feet and deprive the club of income for a couple of matches the board leapt into action and sacked Wenger instantly.

It really is that simple, or you can continue with their delusory romance of fooling yourself that a few banners and marches will force the club to act, they will only act when their greatest love is hampered, and that's matchday income being taken out of their pockets.

Except he knew exactly what he was doing grabbing the corner flag.

Are you seriously unaware of the history and meaning of that gesture?

Ha Ha

To be fair, mine was light hearted in response to this rather pretentious and effete passage
"Him standing on the pitch holding that flag could well be the defining image of this generation and the clubs future."

He basically ran onto the pitch, had no idea what he was doing the moment he got on the pitch, then wandered up to the nearest flag grabbed it and wandered aimlessly across the pitch, it doesn't really have any effect on anything much.

It's no more iconic or a defining image of this generation than Opal Fruits changing their name to Starburst.

Nothing wrong with what he did nor anything particularly revolutionary.

PI,
He was selling badges with him holding the flag in the pub before the Arsenal game. He said that he thinks the court will be asked to give him a banning order from all grounds, didn't say how long for though.
Chav, do you know how much he raised from those badges?
