Is it a coincidence??
That we have looked better, played better and won more since Wilshere has been out injured?
Don’t get me wrong, not laying the blame soley with Jack (we have been superb pretty much trhoughout the side) but many have noted Noble and him don’t fit well with both lacking pace and tackling ability.
Obiangs involvements allow him to do the legwork leaving Noble more freedom to get involved creatively and hide his own lack of pace.We move as a team much quicker now the way things are set up. Lets just hope Pellegrini sees things the same and rotates Noble and Wilshere with the Captain given the majority of starts.

Not sure Noble lacks tackling ability. Hasn’t he spent the last decade topping the lists of miles run and tackles made.

Wiltshire would seem to offer a bit more creativity, though not with the way Noble is playing.

You were calling Pellegrini a moron a couple of weeks ago.

Does being OTT make life more exciting?

If so, I may try it...

Re: Is it a coincidence??
Obiang and Rice are holding , Noble is definitely playing further forward so yes we are.

4-3-3, we're not playing 4-2-3-1

Re: Is it a coincidence??
We’ve gone from a 4-4-2 to a 4-2-3-1 and looked solid defensively ever since. The 2 in front of the 4 have made the difference, take Obiang or Rice our and we’re bang in trouble! Noble is a better player with the ball than without.

Re: Is it a coincidence??
Of course it isn't a coincidence. New players, manager, coaching staff, formation, style all deserves more than 4 games to gel together.

Personally I think our best midfield 3 will be Rice, Wilshere and Lanzini when all fit.

Re: Is it a coincidence??
It's no coincidence at all.

Noble can not play WITH wilshere.

When he's fit he might be a better option than noble or they can come on for each other, but together they're too similar and far far too slow together.

Rice does the mopping up, obiang puts a in a shift and that leaves noble a degree of freedom.

Gives us a much much better shape and mobility.

Re: Is it a coincidence??
What worries me about Wilshere is that he doesn't seem to have those "yards in the head" which enable physically slower players to compete.

Or at least not any more.

Re: Is it a coincidence??
Having Obiang and Rice in the side allows Noble to be further forward taking less defensive duties . Wilshire should be able to slot in when needed. I think we need to blood someone else in there too maybe Powell who has a good range of passing skills .

Re: Is it a coincidence??
Don't get me wrong I think Wilshere will come good eventually. He'll come back into a much more settled side. And yes pretty much everyone played shit in the beginning.

Re: Is it a coincidence??
Wilshere wasn't the only shit player in the first few games.

I think some of that is down to the team still a bit unsure about each other with all the new faces, Wilshere included.

Personally, I think if we can keep up some kind of form now he will slot in nicely and we'll see a better player than we did in the first few games.

Obviously he shouldn't go straight back into the team, but when he gets his chance I think he'll do well.

...or Wilshere shows better form in training. For that he needs to stay fit...

Re: Is it a coincidence??
"But Wilshere should be the natural successor at his age."

Fortunately our manager picks the team based on the best player at the time and not age.

Wilshere isn't doing it where it counts so Noble has the shirt and will keep it until he starts playing crap.

Re: Is it a coincidence??
As I was banging on about for years Noble is much better in an advanced role and almost a no 10. He's not a DM player which is why you can't play him and Wilshere together. Plain and simple.

But Wilshere should be the natural successor at his age.
