In a word, what is the London 2012 legacy?
Was speaking to a fellow hack about this recently, as well as a mate of mine who is a former hack and who retrained as a fitness instructor.

As West Ham fans, we probably have a different view of the much sought-after London Olympics 'legacy' than most.

But that makes us more interesting, as always. If you consider the whole fuss in the run-up to the Games, the Games itself, and the aftermath - how would you sum it up in a word?

See the WHOers average age thread for a clue.

Nice to hear about a family with a positive attitude. Hope you all continue to enjoy the legacy.

Some people on here need to cheer up a bit.

Sven : my 3 kids have cycled at the Velodrome & outside track (fun party only) but competed at the Aqautic Centre swimming, had fun swims & diving courses and watched the international diving competition. They have watched international netball at the Copperbox with one competing netball there & another indoor hockey. All 3 have played hockey at the Lea Valley Hockey Centre with one watching international events. They have regularly cycled through the park and played there and on top of this went to 15 days events at the Olympics & Paralympics, went to Shrouds of Somme exhibition and ... all three are West Ham Season Ticket holders - mine are probably a little rare that they don’t need leading to water as they, their schools ‘ various clubs use the facilites. (Ps. My 11 year old even won a photography competition with a photo taken in the OP!)

Athletics , Swimming, Cycling & basketball/netball (CopperBox) have all got much needed venues.

GB have done well in those sports going forward.
Whether it has had an effect on public take up of sport & fitness ... maybe in cycling.
Then again you can lead a horse to water but you cant force the fat cunt to run.

A once barren shithole is now habitable landscape, it should be the legacy of East London being rebuilt for taking a pounding from the Luftwaffe though not a fucking sporting occasion nearly 70 years after.that seems to get more recognition.

The legacy is opening up the largest piece of brownfield/industrial land in London for all the property developers to carve up like a cake between themselves...

Everything else is just fart noise
