Re: Essex CCC 2019
At least WHEATER is fit.

Delay in releasing the squad must have been because of Amir's visa issue.

Re: Essex CCC 2019
Can understand why he hasn't got a visa yet. It's not like he's spent the last two months playing here in an international tournament or anything.

Shambolic.

Re: Essex CCC 2019
No Amir tonight due to Visa issues.

Essex really are the cricket equivalent of West Ham when it comes to the administration side of things.

Re: Essex CCC 2019
Looks like both #31 WHEATER and #19 PEPPER are out of contention with the gloves due to finger issues.

They are trying to sign a wicketkeeper today at very short notice...

If they can't do it the kid #9 BUTTLEMAN plays.

Could get messy with #5 AMIR wobbling it all over the shop.

Re: Essex CCC 2019
Only game I haven't got tickets for is Glamorgan away, think I'll wait until the day and see what the weather is like.

I still enjoy a good binge drink, in fact the best game last year was at Cheltenham which was rained off halfway through. 🍻

Going to both games myself this week.

Been mainly about the alcohol the past couple of years, as we've been awful in the short form.

Think DELPORT is 89

Re: Essex CCC 2019
any update on Amir and Delport's squad numbers Marsh, son.

Amir was 5 from memory wasn't he?

lowermarshhammer 1:48 Wed Jul 17
Re: Essex CCC 2019
Awaiting squad update.

#25 BOPARA could be missing, was 'sick' v Yorkshire and then 'back spasm' v. Warwickshire. Possible bullshit excuses, out for disciplinary reason is what some were saying.

#31 WHEATER must be a doubt, #9 BUTTLEMAN deputised with the gloves against Warks after Wheats took a blow on the injury he sustained on the first day of the season. #19 PEPPER is the stronger reserve keeper with the bat but he is poor with the gloves and will cost minimum 4 runs an innings guaranteed and will put down chances.

Realistically getting out of the group will be a massive over achievement.

Re: Essex CCC 2019
Going into the whackball in some excellent form, bit of a shame to have to pause the Championship really. Looking forward to a trip to Lord's tomorrow then at the home of cricket the next night. Would be nice to see us do well in the T20, hopefully bringing in Delport will massively improve the batting and we all know about Amir's skill.

Thanks for that Grumpster. I'm exiled in Yorkshire, be great if we win it again and it's nice to know that the Yorkies are out of the picture.

Re: Essex CCC 2019
Might as well give us the trophy now and use the rest of the games as a parade... the Essex globetrotters

Grumpster 7:57 Tue Jul 16
Re: Essex CCC 2019
No one else can win it wilko.

Maybe even ominous for somerset the way Essex have started bowling again. Very similar to 2017 when they just steamrollered everyone at the end.

As stated, let's hope the T20's dont upset the rhythm.

Re: Essex CCC 2019
My cricket knowledge is minimal. With these 4 games left is it just between Essex and Somerset?
Or can the likes of Yorkshire still win it?
