Time flies and because my formative musical years were a generation or so before the emergence of Oasis or Blur neither figure in my best group folder. Notwithstanding that though it is patently obvious that the more creative and more original Blur knock the somewhat derivative Oasis into a cocked hat musically.

Completely agree with Sold0, although I don't mind Blur.

I went to Mile End but left before they came on as a bloke I was with was carted off to hospital to have his stomach pumped. I ended up meeting some other MATES down the Masons ARMS in Upminster instead.

Parklife as a song is fucking dogshit, the album as a whole was poor. But they got better.

Exactly the opposite of Oasis. 2 belting albums to start with, utter gash thereafter.

I was 19. Going West Ham home and away. Musically into House and Drum & Bass But my band of choice was Oasis. So I fucking hated Blur. I got caught up in the battle and we saw Blur fans as wet blankets and lefties. Which to be fair most were.

But as I have got older I realise Blur were decent. Made some excellent tracks down the years.

Not their best album, by a long shot.

"Modern Life Is Rubbish" and "13" win.

Albarn is a tosser.
Graham Coxon is a bit spectrum ,but a sweetheart.

I KNOW.

FMOB, remember it as if it was only a few years ago, good album and enjoyed it, Jubilee is a good track as is the title track with Phil Daniels looking like a dirty old man, even back then!

Never a big fan of Oasis and failed to see what all the hype was, few decent songs but mostly miserable rubbish which just about sums up the Gallagher brothers.

Never saw Blur or Oasis

Saw Seymour maybe 5 times, Rain maybe 3.

Liam was an ok bloke enough in front of 20 people.

Think the fame fucked his head.

Parklife is an absolutely terrible album and Damon Albarn is extremely punchable.

Some superb albums released in 94 though - The Downward Spiral, Superunknown, Live Through This.

As for Britpop, what a load of wank. I remember my mate dragging me to watch Oasis at Earls Court. Have no idea what year or which album they were touring but they were supported by the Verve. Now they were pretty decent. Oasis on the other hand were abysmal.

Still, I loved the 90s. Had good times.

Alex I went mile end , preferred seeing them at ally pally. I remember a girl on her boyfriends shoulders wearing a sparks t-shirt, my god did she get some stuff thrown at her. I like sparks but really didn't fit an excellent day.

25 years is mental! Superb album. Coxon is a great guitarist. I went to Mile End as a naive teenager and being utterly bemused by the support act Sparks!
