Anyone else’s missus insist on chatting on their phone in the same room as everyone else? It’s a MOBILE phone, fuck off to another room, or don’t want to hear half your stupid conversation!!

I do the same if I'm busy with real people. The strange thing is that quite often, that person will point out that my phone is ringing. I simply say that I'n dealing with them and when that's done, if the phone is still ringing, I'll answer it.

They often go on to say "But it might be important", to which I reply "They'll probably ring again later, then". Eyes glaze over...

I have the theme to Hong Kong Phooey on mine. Tend to answer it quick and just say call you back

Re: Women using mobiles
I always let mine carry on ringing if I'm at a checkout.

I have the theme from Father Ted as my ringtone so it's actually quite nice to listen to it all the way through.

You could have, in theory, just rejected it and called back two minutes later. That’s what I do. Unless it was some cunty company that’s impossible to get hold of of course.

Re: Women using mobiles
Last year I think it was I was in a shop in Preston buying some trainers. And I was at the counter when with typical bad timing, my phone went off.
And it was a fairly important call. But I didnt just answer it. As a matter of courtesy I asked the person behind the counter if it was ok with her if I took it.
Obviously its not someone's fault if their phone rings in that circumstance. But its when someone is ill mannered enough to aporoach a member of staff in any establishment, be it a post office, a bank, a pub, or say a cafe at a railway station while yakking away on their mobile. To see such ill manners and lack if respect does get my back up.

Re: Women using mobiles
To be fair its usually men who are the most ill mannered when it comes to that behaviour.
And its good to see more and more cafes, banks, railway stations etc now adopting a policy of not acknowledging people who aporoach them while yakking on their mobiles.

The ones that make me laugh (or want to punch) are the "billy big bollocks" types, who whilst on a jam packed train/bus etc are talking to someone in a loud voice as if they are running a multinational company.

Wankers.

That's now thankfully bacome sainsburys policy where I live.
Fucking scum got what they deserved. The ill mannered bitches are more likely to get a tug when going through the self scanning doings than anyone else.

I like this idea a lot. In fact I would encourage the cashier to just keep scanning the same item over and over until the ignorant twat on the phone noticed and said something. Then to do it again if they resume the phone conversation.

Niiiice.....

Check-out cashiers should adopt a policy of double or triple scanning a range of items if somebody is stood there chatting on the phone. If they don't notice, tough shit, lesson learned; if they do, they have to interrupt the conversation and correct the cashier.

In fact, were a supermarket publicly adopt such a policy, that's pretty much my custom guaranteed - even if, at corporate level they support causes I'm not particularly enamoured by..

dm,
Punchalble tarts with lip injections and false tits tend to be the instigators of rude manners.
Where I live(Brentwood) the fuckers treat this as the norm to the"underlings" who pay their way.

Re: Women using mobiles
What really gets my back up is people's ignorance and ill manners.
When they are in a professional environment such as a bank, or a post office, or a railway ticket office, or a branch of Boots say, and are yakking away on their phones and dont even seem to realise they are being ill mannered, as they reach the front of the queue and and are still gaving their phone conversation when they go up to the person to be served. And dont even have the manners to say to the member of staff something along the lines if, "Im sorry this is an important call". That really is appalling manners.

Re: Women using mobiles
'Chatting on the phone?' Ghastly idea.

I usually manage to have a substantial exchange of useful information with someone on the phone in about 90 seconds. More than that is just pointless waffle.
