Re: Summer Transfer window rumours/discussion thread.
If anyone could I’m sure it’s him and his team. He got our team playing a pretty successful (on the whole) offside trap from the first game of the season.

I’m not sure it’s even about a “pressing” style he’d be looking at. We’d still be looking to counter attack I assume but with the addition of Fornals and an actual striker we’d be looking to hold the ball far better than we do. We surrender possession far too easily and we lack creativity. I still feel we need energy and physicality in the middle for games against tougher opposition. But for teams who we usually struggle to break down the addition of an attacking minded creative midfielder should help us unlock them.

"I don’t think we were ever really in for Gomes. Always had his heart set on Everton and it was misinformation/misdirection to keep eyes off Fornals."

I think you're right, Gomez would of been a replacement for Noble.
Perhaps Pellegrini wants a midfield more like City. With all players pressings and attacking covering each other.
Can he get the likes of Lanzini,Anderson,Fornals,Yarmolenko and Antonio to do that ?

Joe Cole and Drogba left years before Lukaku and Salah both left Chelsea, and De Bruyne moved on the same season Lampard did.

I've read quite a few places that Fornals will be deep lying in that role.

That Pellers sees him as keeping the ball in tight situations so we don't lose possession rather than have someone sitting their to help break it up when we do.

I disagree, we've been crying out for a commanding central midfielder with pace for a good few seasons and that role isn't suited to Fornals. It also needs to be someone a hell of a lot better than Snodgrass, Sanchez or Obiang. Someone to take over that role from Noble and play alongside or just in front of Rice.

Our defensive shortcomings are not entirely to do with the back 4 or 5, how we defend and win the ball in midfield is a also a big contributing factor.

A disastrous decision to sell them, especially KdB and Salah.

they were sold because mourinho couldn't promise them first team football ahead of Lampard, Joe Cole or Drogba whilst all in their prime.

Jose Mourinho used to say he could tell from watching a player for 5 mins in training to tell if they were any good. He then went on to sell Kevin De Bruyne, Mo Salah and Romelu Lukaku amongst others.

Bit odd chucking that figure of £12m against him then, considering it was impossible to sell him in February. It was almost a pointless exercise for you.

People got annoyed about Snodgrass because they saw his signing as the replacement for Payet. When it's perceived that you're replacing someone of Payet's calibre with Snodgrass people are naturally (unfairly perhaps) going to be against him at first.

I tried to take a more positive approach and assumed he was a replacement for Gokhan Tore instead.

Re: Summer Transfer window rumours/discussion thread.

You watched a player for 3 minutes and decided he wasn’t good enough for the prem but is good enough for the championship.

Jesus Christ that is embarrassing, even for this site!

Happy for you to quote my actual words, rather than making up nonsense. Your behaviour in this regard is beyond childish.

>>> Alex V reckons his price has actually gone up and "values" him at £12m.

To clear up your distortions - I do not believe his price has 'gone up', I do not 'value' him at £12m, and the tweet was from early February when his scoring form was good, not now. That number would be different now, but the sentiment is the same.

West Ham make in TALKS to rival Manchester United to stunning forward transfer

West Ham are reportedly one of the clubs in talks to seal the ambitious transfer of in-form Brazilian forward Everton Soares ahead of the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City.

The 23-year-old has really caught the eye at this summer’s Copa America, leading to plenty of transfer rumours linking him with a big move to the Premier League or Europe.

And it seems West Ham are determined to go toe-to-toe with Europe’s elite as they approach Everton over a move ahead of the likes of Man Utd, Man City and AC Milan, according to Spanish outlet AS.

This would be a superb signing for the east London giants if they could pull it off, with Manuel Pellegrini perhaps in need of one or two upgrades to his attack next season.

Everton is currently contracted to Brazilian club Gremio, making him one of only three players in Tite’s squad to be on the books of a club in their home country.

West Ham fans will no doubt be keeping an eye on this one and hoping the likes of United and City have other targets in mind instead of making Everton their top priority.

Re: Summer Transfer window rumours/discussion thread.
Hugill - FW, 27 in June. Weird one - he's doing well in the championship for Boro, I'd guess we get our money back if they want to buy. But shouldn't we give a homegrown forward who has a recent history of v good form a chance in our team? £12m

That 'valuation' is what would be an acceptable bid that the club should strongly consider accepting.

Your words, not mine.

Why do you keep posting straight lies or complete distortions of my previous posts?

Pathetic behaviour from you that has gone on for years now. Seek help, or just find something else to do for cheap thrills.

Now that Gomez has gone to Everton, who were/are we getting as a replacement ? Not Fornals.
You would of thought this was in place

unless we are going to play 14 men I would imagine Fornals was very much instead of him

we have a ton of midfielders now, I wouldn't expect anyone in until one or both of Obiang and Sanchez go

and even then only likely a back up to replace them
