Whyte v Rivas
Whyte heavy favourite, should be interesting, also looking forward to the Allen v Price clash

Listening to Hearns, it sounds like Ruiz has no choice at all in where the rematch will take place. For all intents and purposes, Joshua is the champion and decides when and where they will fight. I guess Ruiz would have signed his life away for the chance of a world title fight at Madison Square Garden. Seems almost certain that it'll be in Cardiff on December 14th.

Re: Whyte v Rivas
Yeah that's roughly what I read yesterday Sarge.

The BBBoC let it go ahead because they didn't have time to test the B sample.

I wouldn't have thought the sanctioning body would have let the fight go ahead if THEY had known though would they?

Not a good look.

Although, since when has anyone in heavyweight boxing cared about that I guess.

Re: Whyte v Rivas
What herne doesnt say is that whyte was only cleared to fight as there was not enough time to test the b sample.

Re: Whyte v Rivas
I don't believe the venue could have been stipulated as Hearn himself has said words to the effect that the venue hasn't been finalised.

Re: Whyte v Rivas
It is stipulated in the contract, that’s the whole argument.

Re: Whyte v Rivas
You can't blame Ruiz, he holds the cards now because he won the fight. Why should he give up his advantage to suit that fraudulent cunt Joshua? Unless it was stipulated in the contract how can yout blame him?

8 years potential ban. Idiot

Re: Whyte v Rivas
As I said earlier, Joshua was more than happy to do the rematch at MSG.

Can't help but think Ruiz is trying anything not to have the fight over here, could be wrong.

Re: Whyte v Rivas
He's signed a watertight contract though stating Joshua has all the say over the rematch venue...

Re: Whyte v Rivas
You've missed the point.

I agree there should be a rematch, Rivas does too. It's the choice of Cardiff being the venue that's the problem. And I can understand from his point of view why fighting one of Hearn's fighters in the UK isn't the greatest idea.

I don't blame him (Ruiz). I wouldn't in his position.

He has no choice or say in the matter, he signed the original contract with a rematch clause in it...

Re: Whyte v Rivas
Surely if you were RIVAS and knew your opponent had failed a drugs test, surely you'd be against fighting?

Re: Whyte v Rivas
He did look VERY comfortable, considering how fucked he was against Parker....

I can't get my head around the fact they knew about the issue before the fight but allowed it continue. Why is that?

goose 12:42 Thu Jul 25
Re: Whyte v Rivas
So were they aware of the failed drugs test before the fight?
Second time Whyte has failed a drugs test.

Funny how he seemed so comfortable with the 12 rounds. Same with AJ until he had to fight in the US...........

Trunds, fair point.

Has it been published which substance it was?

Yes, it would appear the testing was indeed extensive Eddie, you slimeball.

Re: Whyte v Rivas
From Eddie Hearn’s Twitter page.....

Further to reports I can confirm that both Dillian Whyte and Oscar Rivas were subject to extensive VADA and UKAD testing for their bout. Both fighters were cleared to fight by both bodies and the BBBofC

Joshua and Hearn are/were pushing for Cardiff. The champion should get to choose. If I were Ruiz, I'd be demanding he fights me in Mexico.
