Re: New Everton stadium
we used to say that about the OS. Apart from one of the very first games where some lad jumped into the river by the crate in hackney wick, i dont recall seeing it.

Re: New Everton stadium
Judge each new stadium on how far the pitch is away from the stands compared with ours.

That's all you should do.

Perhaps we should all don fucking flat caps and wander off over Wanstead flats each week. Perhaps a few of us could put the nets up!

Fuck me arsegrapes the worlds moving on son!

the bulk of the development will be with the council, social housing etc

What a shame to lose Goodison Park. Love the look of that ground. The fans are basically on the pitch.

Re: New Everton stadium
Everton fans are cunts. Think every decision goes against them every game. Their crowd is ridiculous in the way it reacts to the referees every game

Theyre doing their own residential development there, with a high number of affordable units, not as if its not that affordable already, you can get a 2 bed house round that way for about 40 grand.

Re: New Everton stadium
The reason Everton are not selling it to a developer is because the land value there is so poor they can afford to take this option instead, otherwise it would go for resi/commercial.

From The Grauniad

'The old stadium will be demolished once the Bramley-Moore project is up and running, though rather than sell the Goodison site to property developers Everton intend to use it as public space and for a range of community initiatives the club already sponsors, including a permanent memorial to the ground which has seen so much in its 127 years'.

Now look at that, owners with a social conscience who instead of grasping at the first offer that comes along actually give someting back to the community.

The only reason I'm glad the Dildo's didn't do this is because by now the old site would probably be a mega-mosque.

....but like tottenham it will still be full of cunts.

Re: New Everton stadium
its 52k to start with. Should be fairly easily achievable for them, i would think.

Re: New Everton stadium
Will they be making the same mistake as tottenham, by building a stadium that is bigger than their bigger neighbours and not be able to fill it.

Re: New Everton stadium
good old days..before sky invented football...you could see grounds with some character...quirky stands/stand features...even the goal nets with various shapes...

now you watch games on tv and the matches look like they'll being played in the same stadiums..
