Alcohol Alternatives
Is there a drug that can give you the effects of alcohol but not give you hangovers or damage to your liver?

Phenibut is pretty good, used to be legal but got banned a few years ago. A bit like mild mdma and lasts ages. Might be some floating around the dark web l

When you run out of booze in then house and no shops are open and you start drinking aftershave. Then you got a problem.

Nice breath though.

Re: Alcohol Alternatives
There is no alcohol alternative.

You need to retrain your brain, so that you can enjoy life without it if it’s become a problem.

Of course, easier said than done.

It won't be, at least not until the government can decide on how they can tax it to make as much money as possible.

Are you looking for the “fighty” effect that some people feel or the “sleepy” effect or the “pukey “ effect or the “ dribbling spastic” effect or the”talking shit” effect or the effect that makes you feel loose and liberated from the constraints of your normal straight jacket imposed upon you by an analy retentive society?

Nothing has ever replaced that buzz I used to get on a Friday afternoon down the pub. The trouble was I didn't know when to stop, I'd then drink right through the weekend. Then wake on Monday morning feeling completely fucked and highly anxious.

Re: Alcohol Alternatives
I had to go gluten free last year, meaning I had to opt for gluten free beers. Since doing this I've noticed I don't get such a thumping headache or puke my guts up in the morning, something I would have to do regularly after a heavy session.

Not saying that would work but I've noticed I don't feel as bad the next day.

Some people don't produce the right enzymes to handle alcohol. One of our avid supporters Mr R E Grant is one example.

Should say that pub prices for 0% drinks is priced the same as regular alcohol - which is taking the piss as there is no tax duty to pay on it.

Re: Alcohol Alternatives
No.

But 0% alcohol beers have improved dramatically in recent years. It's easier now to consume similar quantities as regular drinkers - at one time pubs might have a couple of bottles on a shelf but a lot stock far more now.

Try Bavaria 0% lager - £2 for 4 330ml cans, or £2.25 for four bottles in Tesco.

The rest of the work is down to you, you have to change your mindset from assuming only alcohol gives you the buzz.

If you’re wanting to replace an addiction, remember that people can also get addicted to positive things like exercise highs.
