3 dead in mass shooting at US Garlic Festival.
One witness asks "who'd shoot up a garlic festival?"

I guess school shootings are cliche these days

Chicago has probably the strictest gun control laws in the USA.

Chicago has one of the highest gun fatality rates in the USA.

If the US policy gun obsession and in-grained culture makes me want to shrug my shoulders and say 'their problem' Seeing the NRAs puppet president and his puppet wife photographed holding the orphan that lack of gun control created makes me want to throw my laptop across the room and Scream at the ceiling.

It's a fucked up World.

Worshipper, 65, takes down heavily armed mosque gunman before he can kill anyone

Police investigating shooting as terror attack after uncovering evidence of gunman’s far-right views

Lizzie Dearden1 hour ago
A 65-year-old man who tackled a gunman who stormed a mosque in Norway is being hailed as a hero.

Witnesses said Mohamed Rafiq restrained the terror suspect and held him down with another worshipper before police arrived, despite being injured in the struggle.

Mr Rafiq was among three people at the al-Noor Islamic Centre in Baerum on Saturday, when a man burst in with “two shotgun-like weapons and a pistol”.

The attacker, who was reportedly wearing a uniform and body armour, broke through a glass door to reach the place of worship, where people were preparing to celebrate the Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha.

Speaking to press outside a nearby hotel on Sunday, Mr Rafiq said: “I’m thankful for all of the help and support I have received.”

A) it was all over the news
B) it is not really the support for gun ownership

It didnt make the news because he was stopped, by another civilian with a handgun who kept him at gunpoint till the police arrived.

Sites founder and lead developer actually asked to have it taken down. Turns out it didn't go the way they anticipated.

Mim 8.53, can we take it that you don’t actually gain in depth knowledge of most things you post about because you don’t engage with them directly but instead pick up a rudimentary understanding from secondary sources on the internet?

For Trump to approve the new background checks they need to be simple, concise and actionable.

HERE WE GO

1) Are you an illegal immigrant ? Y/N
2) Are you Muslim ? Y/N
3) Are you mentally ill ? Y/N
4) Are you or have you ever been a member of the NRA ?

Problem Solved...

I don't think I "defended" 8chan, Darby. I just think banning it from the internet in its entirety off the back of these shootings is needless. Something which Cappy seems to actually agree with. I notice you haven't dug him out for this, though?

To reiterate; I've never read the site, and certainly never posted on it. Just gained a rudimentary understanding of it by reading about it elsewhere over the years. It does certainly seem to attract freaks and wronguns, which again I've repeated multiple times in this thread, hardly a sign of "defending" something.

Had to google zerohedge, may have read that before, maybe not.

Re: 3 dead in mass shooting at US Garlic Festival.
No, the exchange usually goes like this:

Cappy: you believe X
Me: can you provide some evidence for that claim?
Cappy: option a: ignore the question and move onto another accusation or option b: HAHAHAHA LOOK AT YOU GETTING UPSET I WIN RACIST

I don't think you genuinely believe half of what you type, you're just pretending the people you argue with hold these views so you can look all noble and heroic having a pop. THAT is irrational, son. So again, irony overload, pot kettle, projection etc etc etc...

Re: 3 dead in mass shooting at US Garlic Festival.
I wouldn’t waste too much time on Mashed. He just parrots zerohedge or some Russian agitprop site then quickly backs down when he realises that he’s trying to defend a likely pedophile in the Philippines hosting a child porn site.

Nothing he comes up with seems to be a product of independent thought, or much thought at all, so it’s not really worth worrying about.

Re: 3 dead in mass shooting at US Garlic Festival.
You mean those lists of questions you come up with that appear to have been written by a child struggling to understand simple concepts? I never knew they meant so much to you.

You always do get a bit upset when the answers don’t go as planned though.

But this is what I mean by dishonesty. You, and others here, create these little structures in your mind to excuse your prejudices like racism, or refusing to talk about news that doesn’t fit those prejudices.

So you often present this lists of questions that in your mind proves there is logic behind your views rather than your irrational prejudices.

You then like the blame everyone else who points out that your questions are irrational or irrelevant, or stupid.
