Charity Shield - Man City v Liverpool
1-0 to Man City at the moment.
They look v sharp going forward but a little open when Liverpool break quickly.

Two good chances for Salah.

nerd, not sure about that. It used to be a mild runaround. Wasn't really watching today but appeared a proper competitive game. Bits I watched were manic. Salah must be gutted. Hit woodwork twice and messed-up another 2 very good chances.

Bit of a shame barely any Englishmen involved. But that's no surprise these days. That's just modern football life, I guess.

Kidd was a great player back in the day, didn't he score in the first European cup final to be won by an English team?

Scouse a bit robbed in the end. Hahaha. Never mind.

I'm somehow quite pleased for Brian Kidd. He's 70 now. What a life in football he has had. Beaten prostate cancer, Ferguson eventually slagging him off (for Kidd's concerns about his own health!) and first played in a Charity Shield 52 years ago. Still co-assistant to Citeh/Guardiola after 10 years at the club.

Never a great manager on his own but, blimey, he must understand football very well. Coached all that Manc Utd its class of 92: Beckham, Scholes, the Nevs, Butt... and Robbie Savage.

Sorry: getting nostalgic. If Harry Kane can get an honour, don't know why Kidd hasn't got a gong!

Forgot this was on today.

Shows how much i couldn't give a flying fuck about a meaningless game contested by two of the same old fucking teams again.

The world's most pointless football match. Maybe time for a re-think and knock this nonsense game on the head now?

It's boring having this on a Sunday every year.
