Manuel Pellegrini says Manchester City committed tactical fouls
I said I thought Man City were a dirty team, a few times. Pellegrini has said the same. I glad someone has finally stood up amongst the Man City football worshipers and said this.

Manuel Pellegrini accused Manchester City of making repeated tactical fouls during West Ham’s 5-0 thrashing by the champions at the London Stadium.

Pellegrini said

“Every time we tried to arrive in their box they committed fouls. We were innocent in that regard,” he said

“If you review the game that is why we didn’t create too many chances in the first half. All our offensive moments of attacking ended in a foul. You can look at the statistics. They committed 13 fouls, we committed five. But that wasn’t the reason why we lost.”

The key statistic from the game was instead the five goals conceded by West Ham, four of them in a one-sided second half. In spite of this Pep Guardiola said his team still has areas for improvement.

It was so blatant against city they weren’t even subtle. It was mourinho 2005 level. The only difference was we didn’t do it back at all!

Very nice Paulon
For me that proves what I saw against Man City.
I hope the refs wake up to this and start taking control and penalising Liverpool, Man City and others.

Shame that they'll probably get called up on it alot more now, doesn't do us any favours!

It doesn't change anything, but it's nice to know that the STATS back up what is being seen.

Refs who don't understand the word "persistent" need sacking.

Thanks, paulon. Good read.

Man City and Liverpool, getting that neccessary edge. Cunts!

Another thing looking at that article, it shows Wolves' excellent season was even better than I already thought, morally speaking. They did really well, played attractive stuff, AND are bottom of those foul stats. Cunts!

Re: Manuel Pellegrini says Manchester City committed tactical fouls
It’s an interesting article but the beeb can’t lay into city too much as the stats show Liverpool are worse and they aren’t allowed to say anything bad about Liverpool

I just noticed that on the BBC football pages too paulon. It's interesting and i suspect referees will pick up on it from now on. Let's hope so anyway the cheating barstewards....

Re: Manuel Pellegrini says Manchester City committed tactical fouls
I can honestly say i didnt notice these fouls, during the game ( not arguing against anyone though). I suppose it no different to Arsenal and Man U being dirty bastards, years - still has to stop.

Well, i did notice Rodri jump up and deliberately elbow Haller in the back, nothing else.

It's bad enough that they spend the ridiculous amout of money, without having to resort to dirty tricks..

Still, as much as i think they are cunts, as long as it's them winning the league and not Liverpool or Any other London team winning the league, they're the lesser of the evil's.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini says Manchester City committed tactical fouls
Crystal, someone said earlier that Pep, trains players to immediately fight to get the ball back in the first 6 seconds after losing it and you could see that in the game. Get the ball back, put them off their game or take a foul and get everyone back in position. But it is dirty play and needs to be called out. Really glad Pellegrini said this.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini says Manchester City committed tactical fouls
I don't know about our players but since that defeat I know thousands of Hammers fans who feel that once again they have been kicked very hard in the goolies after watching a home game v City, now that is a foul and a half, no touchie but we still feely.

"make the foul as soon as possible"

Too right. They're contemptuous of fair football, unless it's going one way. Their way.

And only one bloke has taught them that.

It's just disappointing, more than anything. They have wrangled the best players, have dubious finances, and are still cynical.

Don't mind em as a club, but Guardiola is a cnut.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini says Manchester City committed tactical fouls
think the trick is and what City do really well is to make the foul as soon as possible so that there's no chance of any potential attack even developing so in the ref's mind its not a professional foul as a break away hadnt even begun to develop.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini says Manchester City committed tactical fouls
If we had done the same, we would have had 4 players on yellow cards 30 minutes in. Rodri had 3 professional fouls alone in that time and Mike Dean didn't so much as talk to him.

It doesn't change the outcome, but it was a fair point by pellegrini.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini says Manchester City committed tactical fouls
Tottenham have been doing it for years, make a foul that doesn’t warrant a booking when team are breaking, But refs need to be stronger and call it a professional foul .

Re: Manuel Pellegrini says Manchester City committed tactical fouls
Pellegrini should plan his team to do the same if it means more points on the board!

I´m sick of this whining, just do whatever it takes to win

No more mr nice guy!! ;)

Re: Manuel Pellegrini says Manchester City committed tactical fouls
It was their tactical goals that did for us. Most unfair the ref should have stopped it.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini says Manchester City committed tactical fouls
An obvious tactic by City...
Glad Pellegrino raised it in interview...
More managers should do so...
Rodri was so blatant he should have had at least one yellow... maybe two
