3-1. Cottee scored in the last minute.

It wasnt that long ago that Everton were one of the biggest clubs in the land, winning titles in the 80's and if wasnt for Heysal probably would've won European honours too.

We've not been 'big' since the 60's really and then we were more of a cup team.

We're a way off them

5 past matches, I am sure they were generous to us to even it up.

The title was already gone when they beat us three nill in the final game of the 85/86 (Chelsea failing to take a point off Liverpool on the final Saturday fucked us). But I will go to my grave convinced that if that game had been the title decider we would have won.

In the modern era "bigger" is almost always synonymous with "richer" its just that pundits and the media do not like to use that as it shows that there is less of a "level playing field" than ever.

Not sure on finances. I think our revenues are bigger? Not sure about profit. The accountants mask all that anyway.

They are similar in many ways. In the shadow financially of neighbours and Manchester clubs whereas we have teh same situation in London.

Will never forgive them for beating us and getting the title in 1985/86 the one time we got near. :-(

Bernie, in what way are they bigger?

Trophies? Yeah I'll give you that but not on attendances and global recognition?

Re: WHU team Vs Everton?
Everton are indeed in desperate need of a win and historically there is no better team to play?
Will we oblige in time honoured fashion or are Pellegrini's West Ham made of sterner stuff these days?

The unexpected and lets be honest undeserved/unexpected defeat against Palace has raised the first check point of the season. Are we now a stronger team, more consistent, harder to handle than last season and able to go to a struggling Everton and give them nothing but take our chances and get a result? Or have the results so far, against mostly mediocre Premiership teams flattered to deceive?

We lose this Saturday and the naysayers and doubters ( of which I am one due to 60 years of mostly being let down( will return.

Same team as last time ( Sir Alf finally reples to the thread ) :-)

Everton are a WAY bigger club than us.

I fancy us to do them on Saturday though.

the exile, well that's us fucked then.

Everton are in desperate need of a win, so wouldn't it be brilliant to play everyone's pep-up club.

Re: WHU team Vs Everton?
Always enjoy beating Everton - they were a bogey side for us for some time, especially when they had Lukaku, but we seem to have broken that now. They also think they're bigger than us, so good to put them right on that score.

Masuaku for me too.

As Edward Ballbaghands' team but Masuaku for Cresswell. Don't want Wilshere anywhere near the team.

Blatant racism. Shocking. England could get double figures if it isn’t abandoned.

We could have had a great game of “bingo” sayings.

The best way to shut them up is on the pitch.
The players are making us proud today.

I’d also bring Masuaku back in, but I can live with Eddie’s team too.
