Thanks Pellegrini
Pellegrini the Gentleman
Thank you for some nice entertaining football and some misplaced hope of better things.
Shame it all went wrong, with a poor second goalie and consequently players losing confidence and motivation.

Re: Thanks Pellegrini
Why the fuck are you thanking a man that has put us on the edge of relegation but has been rewarded (him and his sidekicks) to the tune of about £20MILLION for just 18 months work.
I could be a charming gent for that sort of money, but it probably wouldn't make me a decent football manager.

And during his short tenure the club have wasted circa £150 MILLION.

I'm glad to see the back of the old fraud.

I'm completely at a loss to understand how people like you get any enjoyment out of anything in life.

New manager, new players, new ethos for the club. We are going out and having a fucking right go in every game, we've got a shocking injury list yet we've just won 3 in a row scoring 3 in each for the first time since black and white TV, and all you can focus on is our defending?

Some of you don't deserve a manager of this stature. I'll include Alex V and Sir Alf in that.

Re: Thanks Pellegrini
this guy made us play football. then made us play more football. then made us play even more football. if you define football as passing.

all that football made us forget how to run off the ball, forget to move for throw ons, made us forget to shoot, cross or run away from defenders. or indeed to defend and close down players before they crossed. oh and once teams worked out all we did is play the offside trap, we forgot about deep runners from midfield too.

still, we could sometimes occasionally fluke a goal in off a shoulder at one of our 15 corners a game, or if the opposition switched off, or if they played suicidal balls out from the goalkeeper.

Escorted out by security and given a final hefty shove in the back causing him to drop his car keys, which were then kicked further away from him as he bent to pick up.

Is what I heard

One Mac, fill your boots.

If you can’t see that it’s down to everyone from the owners, to the management team to the players then that’s your call. Twist my point as much as you like too, if it makes you happy.

The owners are useless cunts but most fans were quite pleased with the appointment of Pellegrini - who turned out to be a useless cunt. As are a lot of the players.

Plus, breaking news, West Ham have always been run like shit.

Re: Thanks Pellegrini
He did bring us backwards on year two. Recruitment went totally wrong.

He did, however, makes us try to play football again after many years of hoofball under BFS and Moyes.
This had been shouted about for years, play on the ground, the West Ham way etc etc.

Unfortunately it all went wrong because of having the wrong kind of players, applying the wrong tactics (or having none)

Thanks for trying, but i wont miss you!

Mex you're talking rubbish. Pell has been a disgrace and taken the club backwards.

Thanks for what? Wilshire? Ajeti? Roberto? Husillos?

Fuck off and die you senile old twat.

Re: Thanks Pellegrini
Blame the board all you like but the truth is that Pellegrini was given enough time and a big enough budget to be comfortably in the top half at the very least. Plus he was paid a fortune for the privilege.

Hardly any of the squad improved under him which questions his coaching skills and the football wasn’t even that entertaining in the main. On paper he looked like a decent enough appointment but in reality he failed miserably.

Pace. It's all about pace. Who have we got with pace. Antonio, Fredricks. Erm anybody else. Look at the teams at the top and they all have pace about them. Tippy tappy football is ok but with pace it's lethal. Haller prime example, hold up player, but get him to chase a through ball and he's useless. We got to buy some speedos!

Re: Thanks Pellegrini
On paper he was an exciting appointment, I don't think anyone can deny that but as soon as he lined up 442 with Noble and Wilshire in his side I was a tad concerned. Certainly his recruitment hasn't worked out but recruitment hasn't been great for years bar one summer under Bilic. However replacing two guys who couldn't play up front on their own with another guy who can't play up front on his own was worrying and to ignore which positions needed an upgrade (CM) has got the last three managers in trouble!!

Re: Thanks Pellegrini
There's something fundamentally wrong at our club. We have been like this for decades with only a couple of notable achievements to remember. The 1980 Cup run being one of them.

I don't think anybody can turn this club around until the owners fuck off and/or let the manager run the club. But what manager? Moyes, Allardyce, Eddie Howe, Houghton? None of them inspire anything,

As much as I hate to say it, that fat Spanish mug Benitez may be a decent shout. But, anybody who comes in will be managed to closely by the owners.

Mind you, saying that, the owners released some serious transfer money to Pellegrini and that got us fucking nowhere.

Fuck knows where we're going.

Bernie 12:18 Sun Dec 29
Re: Thanks Pellegrini
His biggest problem was thinking he could turn us into a ball retention side like Man City, regardless of the players we had, and when it started going wrong he was too stubborn to change his approach.

Re: Thanks Pellegrini
Cringe thread.

That “attacking football” where we had no clue, no philosophy and could barely muster an attempt on target.

But yeah, its down to Roberto.

Fucking minge.

Re: Thanks Pellegrini
I heard a rumour today that someone outside of his group phoned Neil Harris to ask if David Martin was any good just before the Chelsea game.

That's worrying if true.
