Global warming and Climate change
Been in Sydney for 26 year but never experienced anything like the past month before, fires, smoke and the heat some days is fucking unbearable, just a hot dry summer or are Greta Thunberg and all the Activist types right and we are all fucked in the near future?

What’s the verdict from WHO?

When C02 levels are high all organic lifeforms increase its growth exponentially

Just ask any old guy at the local allotments or your friendly local ganja dealer for details

Joyothepeado, climate change won't be the thing that wipes out humanity. And even if it does, humanity is a complete irrelevance in the grand scheme of things. Stop giving yourself and fellow humans so much importance, and concentrate on enjoying the limited time you are lucky enough to have.

Reducing CO2 will make no difference to temperature. It will however make the planet uninhabitable.

Why 46 years? Why not 20 years. That would be better because then you could say that, rounded to the nearest minute, the industrial revolution hasn't even started yet.

Earth is 4.6 billion years old.
If we was to scale that down to just 46 years.
The Human Race would have been here 4 hours. The industrial revolution would have started just 1 minute ago.
In the space of that time Earth has lost 50% of it's Forests.
We are the problem.

The earth created us. We are as much a part of the earth than anything else.

And it will still exist in some for for a long time after we've gone.

ITV reporter in Bristol to young girl: "And what are you doing about it (climate change)"

Girl: " Making my beautiful sign" (points to shitly painted sign: Save The Trees)

Bless.

To be honest, she wasn't 6 or as young as that - possibly even a teen - so should have more of a bloody clue. It's. A. Weird. Cult.

Funberg is on my own patch of Bristol at the mo.

Just turned up at the station and then hopped in a car to take her to venue where she is speaking.

Which is a 15 minute walk away...

Kaiser

The world’s remaining proved reserves of 1.73 trillion barrels can cover 50 years of current production rates, BP estimates. That’s little changed from a decade ago and is 35% higher than in 1980 when oil majors began counting. Over the same period, oil production has surged by 50%.

Only last year Saudi Arabia announced there oil reserves are 11% higher than previously thought.

it will keep going up.

I see that the messiah is in Bristol today, I bet the everyday folk of that city are very pleased with that!

When are people going to wake up and realise she is just the front for her parents and green companies using her to make millions of pounds?

Re: Global warming and Climate change
Actually the lies about oil reserves is a very real thing and has being going on ever since OPEC was founded.

There are many reasons why EVs using today's battery technology and as a replacement for all ICE vehicles is a complete non-starter, least of all is the fact that there is only enough cobalt in the world to provide batteries for about half the UK vehicle fleet.

The UK would need to build (depending on whose estimates you use) up to 28 large power stations. We can't even build one in two decades.

Sniper 4:08 Thu Feb 27

Also amazing that Oil has apparently been running out and reserves are rapidly declining.

Then Electric vehicles starts to become a realistic option for the future.

Then last year Oil majors announce they actually have twice as much reserves as they originally thought.

Funny that.
