Stumbled across a couple of decent Kevin Costner films on Netflix that are worth a watch. "Let Him Go" and "The Highwaymen". The latter about the old Texas Rangers brought back to stop Bonnie and Clyde. Both slow burners but well worth a watch.

Black Panther 2

A more steaming pile of shit you could not wish to see.
The tributes to Chadwick Boseman are well done and classy, to be fair.

The rest is an overtly racist remake of a cross between Aquaman and Avatar. Avoid at all costs.

Anyone want an old comedy to watch I've stumbled across Operation Petticoat on Sky Cinema. Cary Grant, Tony Curtis and directed by Blake Edwards. Like Grants films but never heard of this one but it's a good watch.

Barbarian was pretty good. It doesn’t go in the direction you think it will.

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
Thanks Sold, I'll give it a go. Was just worried it would be Ben Affleck's Pearl Harbor all over again!!

Frightening thing watching that 76 version was realising that Heston was a year younger than I am now in that movie. God that makes you feel old.

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
zico... saw the 76 version up the cinema back in the day still holds up pretty well... the 2019 version I seen a couple of times now... it's like Top Gun maverick set in 1942.... very gung ho.. but at least absolutely spot on with the historical stuff (like using the right planes... actual aviators etc)... which for me in a film is important... some spectacular battle scenes so a decent saturday evening 4 cans and a curry movie...

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
Anyone seen the 2019 film Midway? Stumbled across the 1976 version on Netflix last night and hadn't seen it since I was a kid. Hell of a cast - Charlton Heston, Henry Fonda, James Coburn, Glenn Ford, Hal Holbrook, Toshiro Mifune, Robert Wagner, Pat Morita and a young Erik Estrada and Tom Selleck with Robert Mitchum bizarrely sitting in a hospital bed with a skin disease!!

Very slow and not the best acting to be fair. Heston seems to be driving a jeep from place to place for most of the film and Henry Fonda is clearly in it for the money! So before I endure 2019's effort thought I would ask?

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
Yes, no punches pulled in All Quiet on the Western Front and really shows what a waste of life it was. The same as Vietnam and probably most other wars.

SG... watched it tonight .. pretty spectacular stuff... the battle scenes are up there with anything I have seen... glad they didn't copy the original so had its own twist... tough watch in places but over all a hell of a film.
