Agree about Luther. Stupid but entertaining, just like the series.

Mad, far fetched nonsense story but enjoyable.

I was considering watching Luther last night until I saw the information…

‘Luther breaks out of prison to catch a criminal’

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
Also watched Luther this weekend and a big fan of the show so worth watching for that reason but surely Idris should have looked at the plot and told the writers to get a grip! Probably paid a shed load though.

As Jann said Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre was good fun. Love Grant's slimy crook. More MI than a Ritchie film.

Good for a sequel.

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
ted - Yea it's like a bad tv movie, but I stand by what I said i.e. if you like the show/character then it's still worth a watch, and there are some 'good bits' in it still.

Luther - As suggested, a load of old shite really, BUT if you was a fan of the series you have to watch it, I suppose.

Agree, Alfs. It's a much needed social satire, done in a very unique way. The captain's dinner is one of the most bizarre and memorable acts of any movie I can think of.

I watched 'Triangle of Sadness' last night. Very funny and delivers a poignant message about today's society.

Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre is entertaining but a little disappointing for a Guy Ritchie film. Good enough for a sequel though.

We all loved Luther S1 so much we couldn't bring ourselves to comment on the rapid season by season decline - though we did notice that every episode without Alice in it was a bit, well, bang average. The show properly jumped the shark when it killed off DS Ripley, presumably to make Luther more angry. Like Luther needed another reason to be angry.

Incidentally, Saskia Reeves's portrayal of Luther's boss in season one is probably the most unintentionally hilarious acting performance I have ever seen. Her over-acting is monumental and her 'cockney' accent is an absolute car crash - worse than Dick Van Dyke's I would say, as he had the excuse of not being British.

There’s a new film coming out next month called Seven Kings Must Die.

A bit harsh, that.
