This Coronavirus in China
anyone else worried? 9 dead so far.

CNY soon so the virus will spread very quickly if they cannot control it. It'll be in Europe by the end of CNY if not earlier.

is this the end of humanity?

There’s been almost 1800 deaths so far but Worldwide there are 200,000 births a day.
Many more people are dying of starvation.

Yes, this is an especially grim context given the death earlier this month of the whistleblower medic Li Wenliang, ironically of the same coronavirus.

“We anticipated glitches, but I have to tell you I didn’t anticipate one of this magnitude,” said Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious disease specialist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

With more than a thousand passengers from the Westerdam headed for home, Dr. Schaffner said, it may be harder than ever to keep the coronavirus outbreak contained to China.

“This could be a turning point,” he said.

A fortnight back, there were a few reports of the virus potentially being the result of a Chinese People's Liberation Army biological warfare programme.

Issue complicated because I believe that some of the Chinese scientists trying to find a cure are scientists employed by the PLA.

Also, further complicated by the opaque nature of everything in China - a situation which has deteriorated markedly under Emperor Shithole, aka Winnie The Pooh, aka Xi Jinping

It’s was probably the pangolin sandwiches he had for lunch that did it.

Haha, yes it was the same bloke. Just read it again.

Re: This Coronavirus in China
Although today's Mail article made me laugh. First it said a lab worker had been bitten/attacked by a bat in the lab and was left with 'bat blood' on his skin. Then it said (the same?) worker was peed on by a bat. Then (again, the same?) bloke discovered a bat tick (on himself). Being the Mail, the article was badly written, but it could easily be construed it was the same worker. Basically, bats hate him. He really should find another job.

If mashed suggests something I'd usually assume the opposite is true, as he's a rampant contrarian.

Re: This Coronavirus in China
I'm pretty sure I read an article in the Telegraph the other day that suggested the virus has been ruled out as man-made. Maybe I imagined that.

The article on today's Mail website seems to be suggesting the virus may have accidentally leaked out of the Wuhan bio lab, but I don't think it's suggesting the virus is man-made.

Openly being discussed in mainstream papers now the possibility that its man-made.

Wasn't this a batshit conspiracy theory a few days ago?

The first train on HS2 is going to be named "The Coronavirus". on account of it's rapidity of propagation.

Ha!

When I was recuperating from the effects of the spider bite that triggered Oedema in my leg, the village "mystic" in Ban Dan declared that I would be "completely healed" by drinking 3 bottles of cherry aid a day.

Re: This Coronavirus in China
Early exposure to cherryade has proven to be the common factor in all Coronavirus virus survivors,

Re: This Coronavirus in China
According to this Asian males are more susceptible

https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.01.26.919985v1.full

There is also theory with this virus that it enters cells via the ACE2 receptor and that asians have more ACE2 receptors so that makes it easier for virus to infect.

So its maybe a racist virus, Twitter wont like this......
