It's to do with the difference between freshly-killed meat and stored meat.

Once meat is no longer part of a living animal, its chemical composition changes. Wild cats (inclucing wildcats, but not just wildcats), do store some of their food, but most is eaten fresh.

If cats in the wild hunted down cans and opened them, then they would be in trouble.

Cats have been domesticated for about 5,000 years. How long have they had access to modern processed cat food?

If humans all vanished overnight, Oscar and Tiddles will be fine.

Catfood contains something cats need, and can't get from scraps.

Not getting it is bad for them, at least in the long run.

If this meant domestic cats were wiped out from this mess it would be one positive!

Cats go blind without proper cat food. They can manufacture one less amino acid (forget which one) than we can in our bodies, and cat food has this as a supplement.

Although it probably takes more than a couple of weeks.

Pickle,

Please explain how a minimum wage would mean less money to a slave labour market?

The whole reason people buy from China is because it is cheap due to cheap labour, do you honestly think that a minimum wage would be less than the peanuts they get today?

It would appear it’s not just human food that the retarded folk are stockpiling.

Can’t buy the cat food that our cats like anywhere. Now, part of me just thinks “well, if there’s a time to stop being such fussy pricks, it’s probably now”, but I’m not sure cats understand the magnitude of the current global pandemic and the general panic it’s caused.

Watching them starve to death through being too choosy won’t exactly wound me for life, but my daughter might be a tad upset.

Yes, you are officially an economic illiterate on the grounds supported by what you have posted: a minimum wage reduces the price of labour for businesses hence the risk od demand pull inflation, which in the case of China would probably be a price worth paying these days given the falling cost of energy these days

Here's an article that will give you a little perspective on what sort of time frame and what is essentially required for China to be reliant on a domestic model, although they will always need exports too.

why don't you read up on it retard.

I copied this from Investopedia

Jul 08, 2019 · Cost-push inflation occurs when overall prices increase (inflation) due to increases in the cost of wages and raw materials. Cost-push inflation can occur when higher costs of production decrease the aggregate supply (the amount of total production) in the economy.

A minimum wage risks demand-pull inflation you utter plonker!

Re: This Coronavirus in China - PL suspended until 30th April
Buying treasuries that offer a safe steady return is probably cheaper than offering a minimum wage Pickle. Offering a minimum wage would cause cost push inflation which would cause their prices to increase, you could pass that cost on to your buyers but that would drive up prices and hurt exports.

Not sure your option is better than what the Chinese are currently doing.

Yes and you can invite the Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter to the picnic if you want to talk about how the Chinese have to buy foreign debt to keep their currency low and maintain exports. It may be a way but if they want to keep their currency low, they can even start handing out people money as a minimum wage.

Nutsin 9:53 Sun Mar 29
Re: This Coronavirus in China - PL suspended until 30th April
That is their goal but they are nowhere near being able to rely on a domestic model Pickle.

The reason they hold so many treasuries is for them to keep their currency low for exporting and until they get to the point that they are able to move to a Domestic model things will remain the same.

Hammer and Pickle 9:46 Sun Mar 29
Re: This Coronavirus in China - PL suspended until 30th April
With a strong currency, they could shift to a domestic model and you'd be working for them, nutroll.
