This coronavirus in China
anyone else worried? 9 dead so far.

CNY soon so the virus will spread very quickly if they cannot control it. It'll be in Europe by the end of CNY if not earlier.

is this the end of humanity?

*I would LIKE to submit ...

It's not so much about statistics, but it does provide more evidence to the contrary on this topic.

I prefer to hear from an SME rather than a 'stats jockey'.

Re: This coronavirus in China
About 6 minutes in. It was to do with the stats not being up to date for the end period, which begs the question "Why not hold off until the numbers are in for that period?"

It also brings to mind the saying "Lies, damn lies and statistics"

I would to submit for your consideration this interview with a highly credentialed doctor.

Which bit Ron - can you be specific?

Re: This coronavirus in China
The answer is frankly, yes absolutely it would (and is) happening.

Have you watched the Snowden film or read his book (permanent record)? Personal privacy is already largely eroded by the security services, and it's only headed in one direction.

AI and big data are where policing is heading, like it or not, and the datasets already exist with the myriad of CCTV recording, mobile phone location data, and relentless drive to connect all devices to the internet of things etc.

Seems a bit odd that they publish statistics saying one thing, only to later show statistics for the same period showing something completely different.

Good video, thanks for posting.

You may find it a total waste of time trying to debate sensibly wth Goldie.

Re: This coronavirus in China
Stubbo, Do you honestly think that in western counties like the UK or Australia such a thing would ever come to pass?

Its just scaremongering by delusional conspiracy theorists that seem to have some vulnerable and knicker wetting types thinking it could happen.

hahahahaha

Movement tracking is an invasion of principle which I'm vehemently against. Whether Ive anything to hide is irrelevant.

It's like saying freedom of speech is not important, just because youve nothing of interest to say or think.

Privacy and right to a private life is very important. Having someone looking and monitoring your every move is oppressive.

Re: This coronavirus in China
Manuel, I really couldn’t give a flying fuck if the government know my movements, and TBH it would be pretty boring for anyone interested, I went to the local shopping centre, the gym, called in the pub for a few beers and a chat with friends, picked up a curry on the way home, riveting stuff for about 99% of the population, if anything it may pick up the few wrong uns hanging around schools or entering a business premises after it has closed, not that I agree it should be done though, bit far fetched and delusional of any government and would see them soon out of office, but I doubt for one minute such a thing would ever come to pass!

I don’t buy into all this shit about big brother or the virus is all a plot to get more control the vaccine will sterilize you, poison you or implant you with a tracker or whatever, truth is most of us live pretty boring lives, why the government or the elite want to track us and know what we are up too is all abit farcical and waste of time.

Re: This coronavirus in China
Anyway Ron - watch the FT video and see what you think. Is a decent bit of analysis using figures that are absolutes (total deaths, total ICU admissions) that are irrespective of whether Covid is suggested as the underlying cause or not, with comparisons to years all the way back to 2013.

Re: This coronavirus in China
People who have received a Covid-19 vaccine could still pass the virus on to others and should continue following lockdown rules, England's deputy chief medical officer has warned.

Re: This coronavirus in China
One thing on Influenza - there is an argument to say that maybe masks, social distancing and isolation where symptomatic actually are effective against influenza (even if not all that effective against Covid)?

"But as someone who has looked to chsllenge the narrative the FT video does challenge the perception we're now in a "normal" bad flu winter. "

Well, OF COURSE WE'RE NOT!!

Influenza has all but disappeared according to the official statistics.

Sydders - But how do you feel about authorities being able to know your exact movements, if they choose to do so?

Re: This coronavirus in China
Ronald, i dont have an issue with others if they dont want the jab, but as a business owner i would like to be able to say no jab, no come to my business, thank you please...

Some would say thats discrimination but i would like to offer a safe envioroment for my customers, not that im convinced this virus is as bad as the medical lobby seem to think it is (see my previous post on that).

I say thats freedom of choice (as a business owner), not totalitarian dictatorship in any shape or form, if i said no blacks, Jews, Irish etc then thats a different ball game.

Just my humble opinion of course, and good marketing tool............

Re: This coronavirus in China
This is a good and somewhat sobering video that lrovides the kind of proper data analysis that is sorely lacking from the govt and whilst sobering on the figures does highlight that this isnt all an elaborate charade which at some level is comforting.

https://www.ft.com/video/0cd6f9f9-664e-40f9-bad4-dde59d7c746c

I remain unconvinced that house arrest and fear spreading over symptomless transmission makes any sense, and that the mechansim of classification and case definition is horribly flawed and designed to spread fear and control which is an abuse of power.

For me it would be better to advise if you have ANY symptoms of respiratory illness (including sore throat, headache, congestion etc) you should isolate at home until those symptoms are 100% resolved.

Presentations like this video show though that we're genuinely not in a good place - would be genuinely interested to hear from GO and those who are somewhat sceptical after watching to see what you think of a pretty clear and unambiguous piece of analysis that doesnt rely on dodgy case volumes or deaths 28 days later.

But as someone who has looked to chsllenge the narrative the FT video does challenge the perception we're now in a "normal" bad flu winter.

Does this mean the bar patrons of Brisbane won’t have to endure the vaccine REFUSNIK Ronnie telling them that it was all a plot by Emperor Gates?
All via hand written notes which he then eats so that THEY can’t listen in

NO, I wasn't agreeing with that post, I was so incensed by your desire to see the advent of a totalitarian dictatorship that I couldn't control my fingers.

Perhaps you'd like to explain how the unvaccinated are a problem to the vaccinated, Mr Gates.

"How do you prove you’ve had the vaccine?"

How do you prove you have a drivers licence? Not sure how things work on the UK but here in Sydney, go down the Pub or to a restaurant and even some shops, you have to scan in via a COVID safe app that’s registered to you, that records time you entered, time you left so if someone was there with the virus they contact you to get tested, only a small step for that app to show if you have been vaccinated? No doubt they will add photo ID and harsh penalties for misuse! Don’t scan in, they don’t serve you………..
