This coronavirus in China
|
anyone else worried? 9 dead so far.
CNY soon so the virus will spread very quickly if they cannot control it. It'll be in Europe by the end of CNY if not earlier.
is this the end of humanity?

One of the pub regulars passed away this morning from covid, he was in his 60's and had previous health issues but it's still very raw. Ironically he was a pharmacist who would have been due his jab soon but when I spoke to him recently he said he probably wouldn't have one.

I think the intention will be more places will come online to provide the jab and most of the vulnerable will be done anyway so the rate may plateau.

On the subject of giving the vaccine, as we’re not giving the second part for 12 weeks what happens in 12 weeks when the second part need administering, because at the moment it’s all about jabbing as many as possible but when folks require their second one then obviously the jabbers will not be available to give the first one to new people.

you're giving our rulers a lot of credit if you think they'll not try and "postpone" elections again... and again....
Again?
Can't remember the last time a general election got postponed. Probably 1940.

“ mashed in maryland 12:13 Sat Jan 23 Re: This coronavirus in China Hermit. Don't take this as an insult; it shows your blind faith in the state that you look at the ruined lives, the countless businesses that will never open again, the children denied a normal childhood, the loneliness, the plummeting physical and mental health, the terror and paranoia in much of the population, the transformation of our country into a police state where plod raid children's parties, the missed cancers etc (expect a lot more of them), the rampant lies, goalpost switches and hypocrisy from the decision makers.... and the fact the virus is *still* out there, and think that my criticism of their policy is somehow unfair”
I didn’t say your criticism was unfair. I didn’t even insinuate it. I just acknowledged that you have criticisms.
What I asked, and what you avoided answering was, what would a government have needed to do about this for you to consider it a success.
As I said, you are always clear about what you are against, but what are you for?

There isn't really a number 1. Changes from day to day, but he's always in the mix. He's a clever lad, so we could chat between recovery times. Or he could play me a bit of PIANAH. Other days it might be James Purefoy or Rufus Sewell or the bloke who plays 'Bosch' (proper BLOKE, that). These are just chaps I fancy, though.
I would MARRY Ron Swanson. His being a fictional character is probably less of a barrier to our marriage than my weirdness, to be fair.

Hugh Laurie?
He's your number one choice?
Explain why.

If someone said to me that from today I would have the power to order everybody in the country around, restrict their freedoms, make them miserable, for no reason or benefit to myself other than having the power to do so, I wouldn't bother.
If someone said to me that by doing so I'd become a multi millionaire or get to have sex with Hugh Laurie, THEN I'd be interested.
But power for power's sake is a dodgy concept.
I'm not convinced.
I think they're just out of their depth. Not 'evil'
