This coronavirus in China
anyone else worried? 9 dead so far.

CNY soon so the virus will spread very quickly if they cannot control it. It'll be in Europe by the end of CNY if not earlier.

is this the end of humanity?

It's over a month since the 7DMA deaths dropped below the 100 suggested by the Superforecasters would mark the end of the pandemic. On the 16th of March.

🤷🏻‍♂️

If India shuts nearly all UK Customer Services & IT support will stop working.

Meanwhile China’s economy bounces back faster than predicted.

I wonder how long before the next respiratory disease appears from China?

I agree that India probably does have more than 200,000 cases a day - and that it has many more Covid deaths than reported. Autopsies are rarely done in India, so there's little scope to get a true estimate.

Had enough of this countries sick and twisted media.

Can’t seem to go a day without trying to scare the shit out of the public and homing in on people’s anxieties. The current agenda being a strain that is going to unravel all the work that has been done this year.

Another day and another ‘deadly’ strain. They seem desperate for it to kick off again. I think they just copy and paste the same articles and just change the name from Brazil to South Africa to India and so on.

I’m surprised India (a population of over 1 billion and currently having massive festivities) are only reporting 200k cases a day.

Re: This coronavirus in China
I’d go so far as to say it’s probably the worst country on earth at the moment in terms of Covid. Almost 200k cases daily.

We’ve known this for a few weeks now as factories have been shutting down intermittently.

But nothing was down and now it’s probably too late.

I've also wondered about that. The situation in India now is very bad.

Can someone tell me why India wasn’t on the quarantine list but Pakistan & Bangladesh are??

Vaccine roll out aside this has been a shambles.

Re: Putin vs Yarmolenko & Nato
Rls, you’re lucky having your own government. You should try living where I do. Here we have a government with untrammelled power yet more people voted against it than for it.

Re: This coronavirus in China
The sad thing is China could be provided with all the information they need to manufacture a far more effective vaccine immediately. Nobody would have an issue if they claimed it as their own invention.

They are however far too concerned about it leaking that they hadn't developed the vaccine themselves, and hence displaying weakness by relying on a western product.

As ever political considerations trumping what would be of benefit to their people (and the people of the world).

Rls 6.35, must be mistaken identity because I certainly did not write about “living in a country that has a government nobody voted for”.

The Chinese people who have been defended against the capitalist West and successfully got hundreds of millions into the middle classes? Those?

I’m not a fan of the omunistsbut boy have the Chinkies managed their growth well in the last 30 years. For themselves that is.

Re: This coronavirus in China
Membership of the CCP has fallen massively over the last twenty years. The leadership of the CCP is a criminal gang. They should be designated a transnational terrorist organisation. Their biggest victims are the chinese people.

bruuuno 8:25 Fri Apr 16
Re: This coronavirus in China
Interesting Mike I know I know nothing about the chinks. If lots of other nations have produced effective vaccines then I’m pretty sure China will have one within a few months. How would vaccinations even work throughout China? Nothing like the USA that’s for sure.

It would be pretty apt if China ends up getting fucked hard by their bat virus

Re: This coronavirus in China
The real problem is , is that in reality, China is not a single country (no matter how they want to present that view to the outside world).

It's a collection of pretty autonomous states who will each have their own Covid response strategies, layered on top of those laid down by the CCP.

Inside China, it's not all chocolates & roses. Many regions actively despise direct rule from the CCP. Covid could easily come back to bite the Chinese.

What they need is an effective vaccine.

Lily Hammer 7:24 Fri Apr 16
Re: This coronavirus in China
There’s a reasonable chance that the Chinese have some degree of herd resistance, (if not immunity), to the latest virus because of all the previous corona viruses that have circulated in that part of the world. Let’s hope so, because that means we’ll be a bit more resistant here in Europe too, now we’ve had a better taste of covid than ever before.

Fingers crossed for that T cell memory.

The Chinese vaccine is 50% or less efficient.

Thousands of virus carriers are waltzing through it's borders (they can just about manage the bridges).

CNY with a population believing they've kicked the arse out of the virus (when they haven't) are on the move.

Fucked, fucked, and fucked.

I only asked because of the comment you made about living in a country that has a government that nobody voted for (iirc).

I'm assuming its either Ireland or Italy, so most likely ireland.

As per your advice why won’t it see the year out?

Mike Oxsaw 5:29 Fri Apr 16
Re: This coronavirus in China
China's growth won't see the year out - you need to asked somebody who's passed through the region reasonably recently to find out why.
