This coronavirus in China
anyone else worried? 9 dead so far.

CNY soon so the virus will spread very quickly if they cannot control it. It'll be in Europe by the end of CNY if not earlier.

is this the end of humanity?

You're bulletproof if you've had the virus, at least for a few months (but more likely MUCH longer). It'll piss me right off if there is any kind of lockdown over Christmas as the likes of you and I can live normally now.

I pretty much picked it up the same time as you, so we can lick as much handles around as we want to.

Are black folk able to pronounce the word "mask", by the way?

Or do they say "marks"?

I had the lurgi last month but I’m quite happy to have this SA one… so fuck the masks off people and start licking those door handles again… a bit of achey muscles but worth it in getting this Delta variant kicked into touch…

The claims of vaccine efficiency always seemed hopeful to me.

If the IFR is as low as it (around 1%) its quite hard to prove absolute efficacy as opposed to relative efficacy, because you can't determine the outcome for each person

Biden - "We’re making sure health care workers are vaccinated, because if you seek care at a health care facility, you should have the certainty that the people providing that care are protected from COVID and cannot spread it to you."

That's a dangerous thing for someone who's in charge of the USA who has a mental capacity of a five-year-old, to say

Frankly they have not got the foggiest about what to do next.
"Shut the boarders" (No not worth doing that it's already here).
"Leave the boarders open" (can't do that it'll encourage the spreading of the virus)

Wear your masks, (unless you're in a night club with all the others that have the virus).
Wear your mask in a school corridor (the virus is a child and doesn't like classrooms).

The whole fucking thing has become a fiasco.

Variant 'might speed up end of pandemic if it causes mild illness' as South Africa records NO hospital admissions or deaths from super strain

Nobody has explained it, you're not qualified to. You've offered up a theory which may be correct and may not.

Excuse me for questioning the logic of it

Capitol

"It makes perfect sense indeed - unless you have the mental capacity of a five-year-old thinking all vaccines offer perfect immunity."

That is what Biden and Fauci and the like were saying earlier this year, as they started rolling out the injections. They said, completely unamiguously, totally confident, without a shadow of a doubt, that if you get your two jabs, you will not catch covid or pass it on.

They were convinced they were right, apparently, yet they turned out to have got it very wrong, as they admitted later this year when they started saying how you'll need boosters.

I'm mot sure how anyone can have much faith in anything else they promise. It would have been better for their cause, had they been less sure of themselves and not made bold promises.

God knows what else they are certain of that will turn out to be shockingly wrong.

I have more faith in my and the majority of others' immune systems rather than anything these abject failures offer.

fraser have you learning difficulties?I think Capitol,me and even Block have explained this very well why the government is being cautious...what don't you get?

Re: This coronavirus in China
Dosent the science say that as the virus mutates it becomes less severe if more contagious? If so the geopolitical knicker wetting at this stage is a bit ridiculous. Let’s hope we are not about to walk of a cliff over what for 99% will be nothing more than cold or mild flu (and both of those can kill the vulnerable)

Re: This coronavirus in China
Capitol - No if they offer some immunity to the new varient whuch isn't known to be worse than any other why has it prompted the need for more of the same.

Re: This coronavirus in China
Its more likely that when the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail to you.

So far as I have read, all the 'cases' of 'omicron' have been in double vaccinated people, none of whom have had anything other than mild symptoms.

Re: This coronavirus in China
Think their logic is that whilst it might not be AS effective, there's going to be SOME protection and the booster will help boost your chances of fighting it should you get it.

Not saying I agree with it, but they've been cunted off because of how slow they were previously to act, so they've trying to avoid that mistake again.

Re: This coronavirus in China

It makes perfect sense indeed - unless you have the mental capacity of a five-year-old thinking all vaccines offer perfect immunity.

It's all about the degree of protection offered. The fear is that is will be less effective with this strain, not completely ineffective.

So as it stands now the vaccine is the best protection available and it's better to get that process started now rather than waiting until there are ore answers.

fraser 6:04 Mon Nov 29
Re: This coronavirus in China
But if they're being cautious because the fear is the vaccine is no good against it, where's the logic in just giving our more vaccine.
