This coronavirus in China
anyone else worried? 9 dead so far.

CNY soon so the virus will spread very quickly if they cannot control it. It'll be in Europe by the end of CNY if not earlier.

is this the end of humanity?

Re: This coronavirus in China
Omicron was everything i thought it would be. A few sneezes and a runny nose, much like the mildest cold i ever had. Doing my bit and getting tested on a whim, it coming back positive.

Then the fun starts.

I report it to my boss. Next thing I know the Firm 'Crisis Team' get in touch to make sure I'm ok, what are my symptoms, have I been in contact with anyone, offer to send testing and other assistance (nice touch) and then tell me to work from home until our COVID operations team have reached out with protocols to follow for returning to the workplace.

Then NYC reach out and they are like flies on a turd. I have to text my symptoms daily, stay home for TEN days (yes still 10). Offers of a hotel If want one, and food (?) and free tests will be sent. I'm now stuck at home for a week or more with NO Symptoms having to report in each day, much like most other cases I've heard of recently.

My point: This is now a massive overreaction for what is for most next to nothing with the omicron variant. I almost didn't get that test and wish I hadn't. The non medical ramifications from testing positive are worse than the disease in 2022. I wish the powers that be were on the same page.

Queenie - you know Musk is on the spectrum and so is going to struggle to show empathy to others. You’re there as well aren’t you?

Re: This coronavirus in China
The virus - without any help (except natural selection) - seems to have worked out that killing it's host or having those hosts isolate themselves thus breaking the transmission path is not in the best interests of it's continued survival.

It therefore mutated through several variations until if found one that worked for it (basically highly contagious but mainly non-fatal - other variants are/were possible; calls may be recorded and are charged at your local provider's rates).

An early 2/3/4 week lock-down would probably have sped such mutation up considerably as the virus worked out a survival strategy before dying out completely.

Sure less money-for-mates to be made and even less chances for people to doggedly follow "the experts & authorities" in their search for that missing religious guidance the beardy bloke in the sky once delivered.

Re: This coronavirus in China
That’s the thing SC - virtually every government and the vast vast majorities in most countries determined that the risks were indeed too high and not acceptable at all. The lower risks with Omicron have changed that calculation.

No amount of pretending changes that.

Re: This coronavirus in China
It seems that the adult response to C-19 was to isolate-then-vaccinate those most at risk of developing severe/fatal symptoms and letting, for everybody else, natural selection of the virus evolve a variant that posed an acceptable risk to humanity. Lessons learnt? Not if money is to be made from the next pandemic.

Those who chose* to take the vaccine to queue-jump their way back to their pre-Covid social activities - or even worse, chose to force the vaccine onto their so-called loved ones in order to do likewise - should hang their heads in shame, and, more importantly, be forced to personally shoulder any additional (medical) costs such selfish action creates in the future.

* - nobody was forced to do this, were they? It was always (ALWAYS) down to personal choice.

It’s almost as if most of the governments of the world have given up on their plans to control the masses.

Have you loons come to terms with the fact you’ve been spewing utter bollocks for a couple of years or pretending that the new world order would have got away with it is it wasn’t for you brave kids?

Mim

After calling the truckers out for being traitors, the trucks started to get nearer to Ottawa, there's fucking loads of them, 12k trucks are crossing the US/Canada border in support.

What does Justin Castro do? Shuts down the livecams showing these routes, insults the truckers for being anti vax (even though many are jabbed) and finally claims to have been a close contact of a covid case so is having to self isolate for days.

Some of those countries mentioned in the Guardian report that MiM posted are 'relaxing' their restriction to a level the UK would have called 'lockdown'.

I also notice the massive Guardianista spin/fib here - can anybody spot it?:

'the Omicron variant – which studies show is more contagious but usually less severe for vaccinated people'

FOMB - your loser mentality knows no bounds does it. Most people I've come across see it as great given the fact that this strain isn't killing as many people.

What will you do with all the free time you now have now you don't have to make up a little pretend world and whine constantly?

Sounds like a knuckle dragger of the highest order:

Among other things, “As Chew was led out of the dock, he began to sing "West Ham 'til I die" loudly”

How embarrassing.

I avoid Sainsbury's at all costs these days.

They went woke, so they won't get a penny of my money. Same with Yorkshire tea.
