Team for Arsenal
I think most of us were pleasantly surprised by Moyes's team selection for the Southampton game and I see no reason to change a winning line-up. It would be particularly insane to change the front three, who, along with Fornals, looked like a real force. The only changes I wouldn't be too bothered about would be Snodgrass for Noble and Zabaleta for Ngakia, but there's no good reason to drop anyone, really.

If we had another midfielder i would put Rice in his proper position alongside Diop tbh

This is just my opinion but for me he as the senior defender in the back 4 should be far more vocal, take command more and be the leader in there. To me he doesnt have those qualities and we always look in trouble from set pieces., quick breaks etc where he should be more commanding and organised. Individually i think he is decent and maybe Diop should drop out and then Ogbonna can be organised by Balbuena.

Stepney, I would add to that, that I thought Nobles passing was too often astray against Southampton. I would start Noble though, he always starts games well with energy and commitment and it is later in the games he is wanting. I prefer Noble to start than Soucek coming back from injury and going straight in to start.

Axeman, is Oggy injured? If not why would you leave our best defender & probable Hammer of the year out?

Bench: Randolph, Noble, Anderson, Snoddy, Balbuena, Zabaleta and Lanzini.

Noble to come off the bench to help sure things up when we are 2 - 0 up.

Richy - Of course the day has to come, but when no one seems to know. I think managers just see it as a gamble to leave Noble out, a bit like sending a ship out without it's captain or rudder. I've never been his biggest fan but for me he still starts. I'm not bigging Soucek up too much either right now, just based on 1 or 2 decent performances.

Noble is getting caught in possession a lot more nowadays than he ever used to. He is also really struggling against players who are more energetic or strong athletically. They just seem to be gliding past him now and leaving him for dead.

No doubting Noble's effort and commitment, but he's struggling to keep up now, especially over 90 minutes.

For me we should now be starting to make the transition to where he starts on the bench and comes on later on in games to help manage the game and see out results. Similar to how the likes of James Milner and Gareth Barry are used.

*against Man City Soucek ran further than any West Ham player in the last 5 years - 6 years not 5 years

There comes a point when Noble has to be left out because he iis on the decline on the pitch. No doubting his influence and leadership but against Man City Soucek ran further than any West Ham player in the last 5 years and we need that energy and work rate in midfield which is something Noble no longer offers.

The obvious choice is to swap Noble with Soucek but I don’t think he will and he may play both at the sacrifice of one of our more attacking players.

Best form of defence is scoring goals.

West Ham Way

So same team

Re: Team for Arsenal
I hope and think it will be the same team, as Exile said, with Soucek coming on when Noble predictably tires.

From the BBC
West Ham have no reported new injuries, with midfielder Tomas Soucek in contention after making a quicker than expected recovery from a hip injury.

Yea fair play, Stubbs.

No WH manager has left Noble out in 15 years, I'd imagine he is such a big influence around the place Mon-Fri that managers just can't leave him out. Bit like when we played as kids, the one who was the loudest and was looked up to always played, even if he wasn't the best of players.

Re: Team for Arsenal
Let's keep it in context Manuel - given a number of us would prefer to see Noble miss out, with the team as per Southampton with Noble replaced by the fit again Soucek!

I just stated I don't think Moyes will go that way and identified where I thought he would compromise to keep Noble in.

You suspect that the skipper will play? You're fucking wasted on here, Stubbo.
