2019/2020 Season Decision
Surely there is nothing that can be done other than to mark the season as void. What's taking so long?

They will let a panel decide the remaining results. The panel will consist of Mark Lawrenson, Oliver Holt and a hologram of Lord Griffiths.

Can we finish it off with a virtual season all done by algorithms like the Grand National last week?

If West Ham has been top of the league the season would have been cancelled weeks ago.

* puts too many subbeteo fans on the same terraces until a few fans are on the pitch *

* stand gets accidently set alight by a snout *

* flicks burning fans on pitch *

* flicks ambulances on to pitch *

* cancels league and bans all subbeteo for 2 years *

The only reasonable solution is to hold a giant Subbuteo tournament.

Let all the subbuteo lot out of prison - all the armed robbery lot out of canning town - out of the bin. Most of the 80s subbuteo faces are doing double bird for serious table football relsted offences.
Squashed legs
Split nails.
Flick to kick violence

Fucking goaly nets that couldnt be fit and got flung up the wall

I heard the Subbuteo subs bench coach and little tv cameraman turnt queens evidence on us - grast us all up. Just like the sirbuteo crivketers. SLAGS

Slags. I will shit them.

It seems to me the only way forward is to continue the season played out on a new VR fifasoccer platform that offers players an exact avatar of themselves.

This way players can stay isolated. available to play any team in the world without travelling. Injuries could be almost all eradicated.

Although maybe a GTA like VR can be built for outside of football, so the players can still drink drive, rape and get vast amounts of tattoos.

I cant be arsed to read this or expel any brain energy on reading grown men speculating aimlessly about other grown men getting their little committees together and making their sage decisions together whilst wearing their best FA lapel badged acceptably blue blazers.

What I will say is this: this whole episode may hopefully have made the people who run football nationally & globally ecognise that their little sketch is not the planet around which the world rotates: that the game is only played and viable with the fans as participants, the fans who built the game & weighed out the wealth their association is built on.

That is assuming they can raise their snouts from the trough long enough to sniff the changing air - and recognise the world is still revolving - and watching.

"The English Football League season can be completed in 56 days when it is safe to resume amid the coronavirus pandemic, clubs have been told.

But it is assumed that matches will be played behind closed doors."

Just how the Premier League want it, fuck the fans!
Who owns Football? We fucking do, those money grabbers at the Premier League and UEFA & FIFA would not have a job if us fans didn’t exist. All of them panicking and squabbling over Conference calls now purely because of money with no interest in the fans involvement unless they ask us via Sky and BT to fork out an extra £xxx to watch these games on TV as we cannot go to the stadiums, yeah Fuck us lot.

Well if they started in May they could just get it in by the end of June.

But that's assuming they can start then, and that there is absolutely no hitch or cases of players of club staff getting sick. Seems impossible to be honest. Don't see how they think they can safeguard everyone or get it done, even behind closed doors.

I think they just want to get it to that 75% and for Liverpool to be mathematically ensured so they can just say 'you're champions' before shutting it down.

Re: 2019/2020 Season Decision
The season is a sham now regardless of whether it is restarted and finished. The players won't be match fit iand the players who are available will have changed from the original fixtures. The only reason for continuing the season is money.

Personally I think it should be ended as is. I don't care whether Liverpool are or aren't awarded the title. Pretty much all the other sports have ended their seasons.

Safety should come first and playing behind closed doors kills the whole purpose of the sport. I guess it just shows what slaves the clubs are to TV companies.

Re: 2019/2020 Season Decision
There are sooo many things to consider here, the contract piece is obviously very important..

Personally, I cant see the season carrying on. As someone said below, if Fraser leaves bournemouth then it puts them at a disadvantage. If they went down, they could cite this and the legal claims would be unreal.

They would have to finish in May or it aint happening as far as I can see...

If they restart behind closed doors it will just be "Hillsborough 2 - This time it's REALLY not our fault" as true Liverpool fans "just" want t be near their heroes in their hour of triumph.

Brand based football is being put in it’s place as they’ve made the English game into a ‘money talks’ joke.

Fucking great they can’t buy their way out of this and have to tag along to what the authorities deem the safest route out of this lock down.

If the football starts up even behind closed doors it will make the public think we’ll be back to normal a couple of weeks after.....

Re: 2019/2020 Season Decision
If they’re going to restart this season in June surely there will need to be some kind of “pre season” intensive training and friendlies? There’s almost the same time away from football as there is between seasons. Even if they have their home gyms and training regimes not all players will be fit to hit the ground running which will lead to injuries and indifferent performances!
