Our last game at Highbury.
We won 3-2.

Why was Zamora angry after scoring pushing team mates away?

Re: Our last game at Highbury.
Anton (& Elliot Ward) had a good back end of the season when we went up via the Preston playoff final but £8m was astounding business.
To be fair to Anton he has managed to avoid getting a proper job for a living playing for Sunderland , QPR , Reading , Turkish teams & finally at St Mirren until May last year.

When he was at QPR can remember seeing him in with our fans at a game at Palace (2-2 ... Carew scored for us and Glenn Fucking Murray scored for them naturally. Might even have been both goals).

Re: Our last game at Highbury.
One of my favourite games. Remember going straight from work (all suited up) and I was in the side bit not behind the goal. Remember ending up 4 rows in front of where I was supposed to be for one of the goals with a ripped suit jacket and torn trousers.

Ferdinand was really not a good player back then, his name doubles the price tag. Don't know if he improved in later years, can't remember

We sold George back to Sunderland for £6m with Anton for £8m. Curbishley resigned as these sale were done without his permission as per his contract.
£14m for McCartney & A Ferdinand! Extraordinary

Every West HAM Fan thought they were both great sales.
Curbs bought the likes of Freddie lujngberg and k.dyer which every West Ham fan knew were crocks...

Re: Our last game at Highbury.
I was in a pub full of Arsenal fans with a mate. When they made it 2-1 one of them came right beside me to celebrate and started shouting "Come on Arsenal, it's only West Ham" over and over.

He who laughs last and all that, not only did others instantly tell him to stop being a prick, one of them came over at the end and encouraged me leave the others alone but to take the piss out of his mate.

That Sol breakdown was hilarious, especially given he was upset just because some teenybopper had just dumped him......allegedly.

Re: Our last game at Highbury.
Reo Coker toed the ball past Campbell to break through for the first, and Bobby Z turned him shortly after that for the second.

I’m not sure if he had been in good form before the game or if he already had problems, but the abuse he got from the fans around me was exceptional.

Re: Our last game at Highbury.
Clive Clarke was a left back but played right back to try and stop Thierry Henry cutting in from the left onto his right foot.
His only other Premier league game was in the weakened team v Portsmouth when we were made to play on the Saturday despite having the FA Cup qtr final at Man City on the Monday.

We swapped him & £600k for George McCartney and a while later he had a heart attack at half time in a game v Forest.
We sold George back to Sunderland for £6m with Anton for £8m. Curbishley resigned as these sale were done without his permission as per his contract.

Loved the third one going in, Ethrington wasn’t it, right in front of the away firm, who all went up in unison with a cracking noise that echoed around the lower west where I was sitting.
