Pie and mash v Ruby Murray
Are they comparable ?

Or is the Ruby generally post pub fayre whereas your pie and mash more a staple lunch or tea and not usually taken after or with alcohol

Had one for the first time in ages this week (new place opened in Ruislip doing take outs ) was superb and also used to visit Nathan’s pre match. 2 pies 2 mash loads of liquor and vinegar( with a red counter for your tea) always set me up for the rest of the day.

Love a nice chicken Balti dish too with all the sides and starters.

A decent curry every time.

However, really good fresh fish and chips runs a curry closer.

Can’t say I’d go out of my way for pie and mash

A nice chicken madras, chicken saag or a Thai chicken massaman ....... that’s what ya want !!

Curry is my favourite meal, but sometimes I just want something bland and familiar and a pie and mash with peas would do it. Either that or sausage and mash.

One is the joyous expression of an East End ethnic minorities food culture.

The other is just a Curry.

Pie & mash for lunch with a cup of tea or a soft drink, and a Ruby for dinner with a cold beer.
