Saw the show when it played here in Melbourne late last year. Was very funny and well worth going, just for the banjo playing alone!
RIP CR, comedy legend

Steve Martin is generally good, but I prefer his earlier manic films before he went sentimental. I think that must have been Reiner's influence.
"All of Me" was good. The bit that sticks in my mind was the urinal scene.

On a related note, Steve Martin and Martin Short are doing a live show together. It was supposed to be in March but has been re-scheduled to 2021. They're playing the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Looking forward to it.

I don't think he was in Airplane, but the mental humour was similar..

Use to love Steve Martin, thought airplane, planes trains and dirty rotten were his best ones, and in recent years the pink panther films.
He also did a good one with Goldie Hawn 'the out of towners'

Carl Reiner was mostly before my time, but I loved those early Steve Martin films. I taped The Jerk in about 1987 and watched it dozens of times over the next few years.

One of my favourite films.
'What are those assholes doing on the porch?
Those aren't assholes. It's pronounced *azaleas*.'

His wife is the actress who delivered the line ‘I’ll have what she’s having’ in When Harry Met Sally directed by his son Rob.
