Joe Cole urges West Ham owners to back David Moyes' RB Leipzig plan
https://www.msn.com/en-ie/sport/premier-league/joe-cole-urges-west-ham-owners-to-back-david-moyes-rb-leipzig-plan/ar-BB16l4WV?li=BBr5KbJ

Joe Cole has urged West Ham’s owners to stick with David Moyes – and allow him to turn the club into the Premier League’s RB Leipzig.

Before committing to a second spell at West Ham, Moyes spent some time with Bundesliga side Leipzig.

The former Manchester United chief saw how the team have emerged into a Bundesliga force after being in the fifth tier a decade ago.

Cole said: “I think when David went into West Ham, there were concerns from some fans that he was just coming in to steady the ship.

“But talking to David and listening to him about his experience going over to RB Leipzig, he’s returned to football with a renewed vigour and a different idea this time of how he wants to develop the club – and I like what he’s saying.”
Leipzig have finished third in the Bundesliga behind champions Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, after being runners-up in their first season in the top flight two years ago and sixth last season.

Their success was built on buying young stars such as striker Timo Werner, who joined from Stuttgart in 2016 for £8million before being sold to Chelsea last month for £47.5m.

Former Hammer Cole – now an academy coach at Chelsea – added: “If the club use the Leipzig model, where they bring in young, hungry players and don’t overpay for ageing players, and if they play the high-intensity football West Ham fans like, then I like that.

“If West Ham can stay up and David keeps himself in the job and gets the chance to develop his ideas that would be fantastic.

“And if fans understand that model and it’s presented to them the right way in the type of players the club wants to bring in, they’ll support it.

“If anyone does their homework on Leipzig it’s a fantastic model and I like the fact that David is talking like that.

“Then the tide turns, instead of getting players in just to get us over the line. There needs to be a strategy they all can implement.”

After their last-gasp victory over Chelsea, the Irons hope to follow that up with a win at Newcastle today.

But, despite taking Chelsea’s scalp, Cole reckons West Ham’s relegation scrap may go to the last day and their home clash with Aston Villa.

Red Bull model with GSB don't make me laugh there's not a hope in hell that they would provide the required investment for such a set up.
They will implement their own model which would be more of a
John Bull set up.

Stick to scoring against us before wildly celebrating with Chelsea fans you mono-browed 'I sat in The Shed' mong.

Not that I'm bitter.

Joe Cole wanted Roeder so I don't ever listen to anything Joe thinks.

His lack of using subs, which is one way of giving young players game time,is a sure sign that he is not what he thinks he is. "Winning is what I do" sounds even more like a White House spokesman/woman stateman.

Go away Moyes

Every clued up manager would want their board running scouts and grass roots like the Germans and RB.

No way Joey Cole said "Vigour".

He is on a back hander from the board to praise Moyes. Keep his comps and box invites.

David Moyes' plan is more likely to be Irn Bru, than Red Bull.

"I also remember and have never forgiven 'arry blaming and naming Cole for one particular defeat during the post-match."

I remember that too. I always felt that, for us at least, Joe stopped trying things so much after that in case they didn't come off, which was a real shame.

I've always liked Joe and was desperately sorry when he left.

A forward-thinking owner and manager would have realised that we had, potentially, the basis of a side that could win the league with some investment. Instead, we sold Rio and it all came crumbling down.

I also remember and have never forgiven 'arry blaming and naming Cole for one particular defeat during the post-match.

If weMre going to follow that model then we will need a better manager, but bowen and souchek look like top signings already (not sure how much moyes had to do with them) maybe with a full summer of choosing players he wants we may be able to actually be able to kick on rather than starting all over again with someone new.

I doubt the only reason behind RB's success was just simply buying young hungry players.

Erm.... haven’t we heard this all before with ‘the project’. All well and good having talented young players and nutturing them but if they don’t get game time?! And Moyes isn’t famous for giving youth a chance. Let’s see if, even when safe he gives Johnson game time or Silva up top. He is too old and set in his ways to change, set up not to lose and nick a goal if poss. Old school manager, the type we should
never touch.

RB have one of the biggest & most innovative scouting networks in the game.

We have 1 full time scout.

I disagree I think too many fans do not like what he does.

But we can never truly judge Moyes and what he is capable of without him bringing in his own players in a summer transfer with some decent money, yep no money.

Of the dildos really want a RB Leipzig model with Moyes staying, they need to get a top Director of Football who is fully qualified to do it.
