Obesity being targeted as huge health problem
|
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-53546151
Not sure why it’s being targeted now as people have been overweight for years and years but looks like it’s the next invasion into your private lives by the state.
Rightly so of course as the imposition and cost to the normal weight people is huge and will only get bigger with so many overweight kids.

This may be true in London.
However up north in more rural areas, the roads are absolutely plagued with middle class, middle aged/elderly cyclists. Many of whom would vote Tory.
There's not so much the entitlement/aggression you find in London cyclists, just more complete obliviousness to an actual dangerous level.

Something tells me she hardly struggles to afford food, you could call it some kind of spooky intuition of mine.

Darlo Debs 2.13.....oh dear seems you need read up on the highway code Unfortunately cyclists don't have to ride in single file, it's not illegal to ride in packs and you are probably committing an offence beeping more than once at them. Use of your car horn is to let someone know you're there not "get out of the way I'm working and in a rush"

Find a militant cyclist over the age of 35-40. You won’t find one.
Like World War 1 fighter pilots Johnson son... they dont last long....

The Highway Code is only (ONLY) for road users who don't know what they're doing.
Cyclists clearly DO know what they're doing (saving the planet) and so the code doesn't apply to them.

Agree completely.
Anyone that saw the CCTV clip of Antonio's Audi and several other expensive cars, had their tyres slashed by an eco-warrior cyclist wanker...

Nice to see the fatties getting triggered in this thread. Must be the lack of testosterone that makes them so sensitive.

Most of the militant cyclists who think they rule the roads and pavements are usually rabidly left wing, remainer, Corbyn extremists brought up on a diet of it’s your world so it must conform to your world view and anyone who disagrees with you is a fascist.
Find a militant cyclist over the age of 35-40. You won’t find one.
Plenty of the cunts under 35 though.
It’s a nurture thing through under age parenting from the last generation to have experienced a sense of discipline.
Basically those people never grew up and are bringing up the smacked arse militants of their youth.
See any non-football topic on this site for similar behaviour.

Re: Obesity being targeted as huge health problem

You've got that wrong, Debs
Rule 66 of the Highway Code states:
You should keep both hands on the handlebars except when signalling or changing gear keep both feet on the pedals
never ride MORE than two abreast, and ride in single file on narrow or busy roads and when riding round bends
not ride close behind another vehicle not carry anything which will affect your balance or may get tangled up with your wheels or chain be considerate of other road users, particularly blind and partially sighted pedestrians. Let them know you are there when necessary, for example, by ringing your bell if you have one. It is recommended that a bell be fitted.
Moreover, the proposed rule changes will take out the " and ride in single file on narrow or busy roads" bit

Joyo the ones here drive me bonkers, a lot of weekends i travel between various local villages for work and they ride in packs and take up whole roads. Have to beep at them more than once as they know they should be riding single file.

Debs l disagree as most cyclists on country roads OK, but around cities(especially central London) so many jump lights, ride on pavement and ingore the highway code... Basically c**ts

Advantages of obesity
|
1) fat men are less likely to get an inguinal hernia (the theory is that the fat operates as a preventative truss);
2) er
Still, shows that it's an ill wind that blows no-one any good.

..and if other cyclists were like that i wouldnt have an issue either. ..but so many ( esp on country roads) don't follow the rules and think the highway code is somehow inapplicable to them.

I was driving today. Saw a big Halfords store, thought I'd pull in and have a look at the bikes.
Only 2 bikes in the whole place, both e-bikes, both horrible.
Waste of time.
