Arguably would have been the right choice a little under 3 years ago (instead of Moyes Part One) or even a little over 2 years ago (instead of Pellegrini). But his stock was very high back then and he was still being talked about for England, Arsenal, etc. Seriously concerned about his record with money to spend since. We all know Sullivan likes a marquee signing (look at this Fiat Punto, I spent as much on it as a low-end Jaguar, therefore it's just as good, what a genius I am) and someone who spends £15m on Ibe or around £19m on Solanke is not the man to talk sense into the dwarf. Probably a Dyche level manager in truth who is better making a team of supposedly lesser individuals more than the sum of its parts.

So ..... we think Howe taking the Burnley job was just to establish an alibi when his mother died.
He has always looked a bit shifty
I suggested Bristol City as it’s a big enough club that is close enough to coming up in a city and area that needs a Premier league club.

Is it fair or indeed balanced to think that managing a team to EPL relegation outweighs all the good work to build a club such that you get it into the EPL and sustain it there for five years?
And consider that but for a wrong decision which all but officialdom witnessed and acknowledged it might be Dean Smith getting denigrated and Eddie Howe being praised.

Oh, FFS, don't let this thread descend into another "race" one.
Fwiw, I think Howe pretty much did wonders. But not sure he can step up to a higher level, either with player egos or buys, though. He really IS too nice, probably.
Also, he must be fucking knackered of the struggle. Whoever suggested a club like Bristol City: yep, I can see him doing well there.
* He had a hard time at Burnley, yes, but wouldn't say "failure". His mum died, which for a man in his 30s, was probably tough. He's "nice" see....

Aside from the obvious achievement of taking them from 92nd to the top division, If we had 3 of our first choice back 4 injured pretty much all season we probably would have been relegated as well.
Always fine margins for the teams from 8th to 19th. Didn't make Dyche a bad manager when he took Burnley down either.

He's had two clubs ever, one of which he did poorly at and walked out to go back to the fucking first one.
If we were a lower league club he'd be a decent punt. He aint the bloke to take you anywhere winning anything. Moyes has achieved more than this bloke. Puts it into perspective doesn't it?
