Let’s give David Moyes some credit
|
All the crap he is putting up with and doing well. Great displays against Arsenal and Wolves. Good end to last season to keep us up.
Happy days enjoy it! HAMMERS
(I looked for the old credit to Moyes thread but could not find it!)

Wins breed confidence, no matter who they're against. We looked like a team who have been on an unbeaten run and that win can only be seen as a good thing, despite some on here trying to claim otherwise.
The only thing that frustrates me is that if we'd actually turned up against Barcodes in the first match of the season then we could be sitting 4th by now...
Newcastle, Brighton and the first half v Spurs are the only times I can think of where he clearly got things wrong.

He deserves massive credit, he also deserves a chairman who will back him and sign the 3/4 players he wants to push on from being this "we could break into a top ten team"
A new GK, left back and a natural striker would be nice.

There will be a dip in form at some point you would expect? But I have been thinking that from early on. 6 decades of false dawns does that to you.
But the mentality change should hopefully mean any dip is short lived and that is probably the biggest difference Moyes has made. The psychology is different, players believe in what they are doing, understand their roles and the need for working in a team not as individuals.
The role of Nolan, Irvine, Nevin and Pearce should not be underestimated either. Seems they are working on different aspects with different areas of the team to great effect and are the most vocal of all management teams on the sidelines if you have listened to games without crowd noise.
Shame we will be held back by the owners :-( But its progress just to be mid table or flirting with the Europa League. To sustain it will take some investment which we just hope GSB can provide even if it will be modest.

Let's see how far he can take us. Right now, he has far exceeded my wildest expectations. Bodes well for the coming years.

I said it weeks ago and still have the same opinion. Moyes is right for us now but we may well be fed up with him in a few years.
He suits a club with no money, big ambitions with small-times owners...

I'm just happy he's listened to his critics (and not his dickhead arse-rimmers) and finally conceded that not only were his negative methods as dull as piss to watch, they yielded shit results too. We were almost perfect yesterday, even with Lanzini and Noble in the team.
Feel free to save this in your scrapbook too, Coffee. Oddball.

Until he gets the squad he feels reflects his way of managing a football club, I don't think he's bothered by the doubting of him, I think he'll be looking at the Burnley result today and thinking he got it spot on there.....

Despite currently being 7th and beating the mighty Doncaster in the 3rd round of the FA Cup at home, I still don’t rate Moyes.
I’ll be amazed if we finish in the top half, just as I was when Roeder got us a 7th place finish.

REALNAME - Mick AGE - Big kid OCCUPATION - self-employed HEROES - Brooking PLACE - Upminster Ex-Pisshead,now piss taker and Ghandi\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s nemesis, who now posts as chutai and still sends me threats and abuse which I love!
Here is a classic WHOmail from chutai- Respect on WHO, you dullard. Ar you joking ? By whom a few inarticulate fools who just want to prove something. But even they post more relevance than you\\'ve ever done .But as if I care anyway.
The only thing of any note that you\\'ve posted was a disgusting diatribe against those girls that were murdered in Ipswich- for which you received the only reaction that it deserved.
My boy. When your ever as articulate and as knowlegable as me , then I\\'ll treat you more seriously. But that isn\\'t going to happen is it.
My advice to you is to grow up and shop posing idiot remarks like \\"oh fat one\\". Surely you\\'re older than anyone who would utter such immature garbage. That is about 12 years of age.
I despair, I really do
Here is another, but he did'nt turn up,silly old Mr No-show-
You pathetic wretch and imbecile of a sub-human creature. Give me your mobile number and I'll let you know when I'm about to arrive.
