It is one of the most ridiculous sights imaginable when you see 4/5 near corpses jumping around the stage like little girls in a school playground. They looked ridiculous enough even in their thirties. The Rolling Stones are the worst example of this.

Most bands make very little from the music companies, at the start they're all dazzled by the limos, TV interviews, ToTP performances and fucking underage girls in hotels in exotic locations, afterwards when the dust settles the music company bills them, they tend to get majorly ripped off and receive very little in comparison on record sales as well.
That's why a lot of artists rebel once they realise the contract they signed fucks them.
Touring is the only deal where they make the money, hence the unedifying sight of wrinklies like Jagger pursing his ridiculous lips and BUPA installed hips at the ripe old age of one hundred and eleventy seven

If their music has changed and it’s not Weller doing Jam songs or The Who singing about hoping they die before they get old they can carry on.
That said Weller is doing a bit of a Gerry Francis by keeping a 40yo hairstyle going.

Fish has been saying for years that his next album will be his absolute final one. It has just been released and it is excellent.
Last time I saw him live he was saying about how the audience has aged with him and as he looks out over the audience he sees the lights reflecting off most of the heads in the crowd,. shine-shine.

Scorch nailed it. Biggest motivator, possibly the only motivator, is paying alimony, child support, school fees, etc, for 4 ex wives plus numerous groupies' 'love children'. I can't believe for one second they still want to be doing that tired old schtick at their ages. It's undignified.
