The Goalkeeping situation

The elightened amongst us or maybe knoledgeable students of tthe wonferful sport of football,may well name the position between the sticks as a goaldefender.
call it what you will.
We currently have the splendid FABIANSKI as our clear first choice,ITS NO SECRET THAT THE tOP cLASS CUSTODIAN is coming into his final years as a first team squd regular,
I have never made a secret of the belief that our currnt backup is not equipped for the job,
MARTIN is someone who when called upon will give his all.
Yet we do need someone aged about 26 years,who is a highly skilled first team squad custodian who can share first team responsibilities with our current encumbant.
we have a vast array of fine young stars fron TROTT through to KNIGHTBRIDGE ALL WAITING FOR THEIR CHANCE,
who is trhere that meets the need and is of a good high standard?

Everton will be ditching Jordan Pickford soon, doubt they'll be many takers from the top 6 sides; a cheeky punt on him wouldn't go amiss.

Fabs doesn't look to be slowing down at all, I think he surely has another season and a half left in him - at least. Randolph is a decent back up. Can't see Trott or Anang getting anywhere near Fabianski's level any time in the next 3 years.

we need a top goalie as well as FABIANSKI who can be a potential bridge for three years until Natty and Jojo are capable of 30 or so top level appearances for us

Anang was sent off recently for our u-23s. I don't know why Trott isn't the regular goalie for these as he is unlikely to displace Randolph any time soon. He should have gone out on loan again.

Otus EVERETTI is known for his excellent vision and awareness, especially in night games.
He has a great command of his area using a vast array of whistles and high pitched hoots.

Alphonse Areola could do a good job for us,
he seems a bit heavy hipped and not very aggressive

Seen Pope a couple of times this season and he has made some Pickford style errors in kicking and handling
Was excellent before and after his injury but has looked a bit wonky this season
As said Burnley would want a silly price as per Tarkowski and there is better value in Europe
The trick is finding someone who can handle the physicality of the PL. As a general rule I'd prefer an Eastern European

I think Nick Pope is one of the best in the Premiership, certainly the best English keeper. Burnley would demand a King's ransom tho

We were linked a few times in 2015 with Daniel Bentley when he was still at Southend. Allardyce wanted him but Sullivan wouldn't provide the small fee involved.( surprise,surprise).

I have only seen him at his worst being a competent and adequate,
i have had reports of him being less than composed and him becoming unsettled as a person when intalks about transfers
