Is this the best league chance we've had in a few decades?
We've got a relatively thin squad - high risk.

But I'm feeling more optimistic about our league chances than I have for a few years, in fact since that year with Bilic and Payet.

And I'm a Moyes hater - but starting to change my mind.

When did Josh King last play a match?

What happens in the next two games will show where we are.

Zebra
If we are wanting energy in midfield to replace either Soucek or Rice then Coufal could bea replacement. Great defensively but not the greatest creating or scoring. We could utilise his passing and tackling there. Johnson or Ashby could play at right back.

I would like us to sign someone who can cover for Rice or Soucek from the start of a match. Not sure if Noble is up to it any more.

Exactly.
Thankfully our run of signing superannuated strikers on load/injury prone has beans looks to be well and truly over.

Re: Is this the best league chance we've had in a few decades?
We need, but we can't afford. Just look at how we got Benrhami here.

We'll take a punt on a Championship striker (again on the never-never) and maybe a couple of East European workers.

Moyes seems to know his way around those markets, so not all doom & gloom.

WHO after we lose two games: “we’re going to be relegated!”
WHO after we win two games: “can we win the league?”

Haha, so true !!

We need a striker. Id like a left back and a midfielder too.

Wonder if it’s time for agents to renegotiate Rices deal?

Re: Is this the best league chance we've had in a few decades?
We shouldn't let Rice go at any price, he is the skipper and we are building the team around him. Letting him go would have a serious impact upon team spirit and morale. Tell Lampard to eff off, let the bastard work for success and not buy it!!

Re: Is this the best league chance we've had in a few decades?
We’ve got a chance of qualifying for Europe via the league if we can be lucky with injuries and keep this run of form going. At the moment you feel we can go into any game and win it or get something from it. Given our initial run of harder games where we picked up a decent return and with “easier” ones to come we may feasibly find ourselves much higher than our current position.

I’d like to see us have a proper crack at the cup this year too.

Looks like he is off looking at that. Pity as I would have hoped he may have stayed another year or two.

Adding Kral and King in January will give us the strongest squad we’ve had for years. And give options around the formation we play! Looking forward to Monday night to see how we line up!

This interview sounds a bit ominius to me. What does anyone else think?

Re: Is this the best league chance we've had in a few decades?
I think we are only 9 or 10 signings away from having a really good side!!

Seriously, we do now have a half decent first 11 but as others have said the squad is too thin and you only need a couple of injuries to key players like Rice, Soucek or Ogbonna to be in the mire again.

Like Haller affecting the way the team plays as much I think he is a Legend losing Rice or Soucek with Noble coming in would affect the dynamic.

Need three or four quality signings to move forward IMO. Need at least another quality centre half, central midfielder and striker.

Swiss,

True about Fulham and Sheff Utd, but what about Leicester, Wolves, Man City and Spurs? It's not just 2 games that we've picked up results in.
