West Ham generate less money than Crystal Palace .
West Ham generated less revenue than Crystal Palace whose Selhurst Park ground has a capacity of 25, 456....Next Level??

West Ham United have fallen to their lowest position in the Deloitte Football Money League since the club left Upton Park.

The annual summary of football club finances, which ranks clubs by their annual revenue listed the Hammers in 18th spot globally for the 2020 rankings - making West Ham the seventh highest-ranked English club.

But in the latest rankings, released today, West Ham are down to 26th spot - the club's lowest position on the chart since 2014 when the club ranked 29th, the lowest position since moving from Upton Park to Stratford in 2016 and the first time the club have been out of the top 20 since leaving The Boleyn Ground.

Everton (17th), Leicester City (22nd) and Crystal Palace (25th) all overtook West Ham in the latest rankings, leaving the Irons as the 10th-highest ranking English club. Additionally Napoli (19th), Eintracht Frankfurt (20th), Valencia (21st), Benfica (23rd) and Borussia Monchengladbach (24th) also rose above the Hammers in this year's rakings.

No English club made this year's top three, which is populated by Barcelona (£715.1m), Real Madrid (£714.9m) and Bayern Munich (£634.1m).

The Deloitte Sport Business Group estimate that the 20 highest-earning clubs will lose in the region of £2billion revenue across the 2019/20 and 2020/21 season as a result of the reduces income from match-attending fans, commercial activity and broadcasting revenue.

This is what the guy from hammers United should have massively led on . If anything exposes GSBS inability to run a club this is it.

The only good thing about the stadium live is the deal we got - fuck all outlay and she’d kids of income from tickets

So in a year when a pandemic closed the stadium, of course we won’t generate ravine and it will, proportionally, hit us harder than teams whom have a smaller stadium with higher running costs

Obviously if you combine that with the fact we only have a handful of players and a terrible kit (home and away) so no merchandise is sold it’s no surprise we went downhill (swt)

Plus we all hate the owners and don’t want them having any of our money

Woy is out of contract too at the end of the season.

It's even worse if you look at all of those players ages.

Basically, Palace will have to offer most of their squad a new contract or they walk, and they're nearly all over 30 anyway.

So Barcelona are top, yet are 1 billion euros in debt and are struggling to pay their players?

Paying too much in wages is not a good thing but having great employees on the right contract is. I heard half of Crystal Palace’s staff were out of contract in the Summer. That USA good thing if you want a big overhaul. Not good if you think they are great. These things are generally fleeting and it requires constant hard work to balance available cash to pay and retain the right staff.

The Deloitte Football Money League is a rough guide to where economic power lies in football - but it's hardly comprehensive.

It barely makes any provision to reflect debt. So Man Utd are hugely restrained by their debt position now - both in terms of banking debt and what is owed to the Glaziers. Likewise, the two big Spanish clubs (although they just seem to keep borrowing and borrowing).

I'd say that Bayern probably look financially more stable than the likes of Barca, Real Madrid or Man Utd. Incredibly, Bayern paid off their huge stadium debt 16 years ahead of schedule.

Interestingly, Man City are either equally as stable as Bayern - or at huge risk of failure, depending on the whim of its owners. That's the problem/risk when you have an oligarch-style benefactor. You are one tantrum or unexplained wealth order away from financial catastrophe. It's unlikely with City, more likely with Chelsea.

Or to put it another way, if everyone’s ground is empty, Palace can compete with West Ham

So your opening statement is a load of confused stupidity?

So it’s got fuck all to do with the size of the ground then?

Chav. Yes TV income grows, but in 2019/20 Palace had a massive £2.2 million more than us in TV money.

https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/club-by-club-a-breakdown-of-the-2019-20-premier-league-prize-money/

Thought an extra 30k fans a week, for 14 - 15 or so games in 2019/20, would offset that.

Re: West Ham generate less money than Crystal Palace .
If you read the report, our income has GROWN across all categories, from 2019 to 2020.

The actual headline total for 2019 (£197.9 million) does not equal the sum of the three income types. That is £175.2 million. It does for 2020.

2020 (Stratford): 18th, 7th (£190.7m)
Broadcast: 67% (£127.4m); Commercial: 19% (£36.2m); Matchday: 14% (£27.1m) ADDS UP TO £190.7M

2019 (Stratford): 20th, 9th (£197.9m)
Broadcast: 68% (£118.5m); Commercial: 18% (£32.2m); Matchday: 14% (£24.5m) ADDS UP TO £175.2M NOT £197.9M

Why Palace's revenues have grown so much, no idea.

Re: West Ham generate less money than Crystal Palace .
Could it be an effect of not buying their merchandise because we don't like the owners? Not the whole difference but an amount that they will be aware of the drop off.....all counts and that.

Re: West Ham generate less money than Crystal Palace .
Does it really matter, as had we stayed at UP we'd have been even further behind them last season, surely?

Also, our turnover was 43m more than Palace's the season before last, with a much larger income outside of TV revenue, and no-one said a positive word.

Re: West Ham generate less money than Crystal Palace .
Actually there were fans in the ground for most of the season. But whatever, ite the same for Palace.yes they got 4 million more in prizemoney.
Our fanbase is hugely bigger. Our sponsership, merchandise sales and corporate income should be miles ahead of Palace. What was the point of moving-What is Brady doing over there?
