A dark dismal windswept freezing derelict dock area teeming with GAY SAILORS
Guess you've already signed up for a season ticket, NORTHERN, given you have given up watching West Ham?

I wonder how many palms were greased and brown enveloped deposited for this to be approved.

Is it really worth spending half a billion quid for an extra 10,000 or so seats?
That's a LOT of debt to pay off before it becomes viable.
Seems a bit mad. Maybe Goodison is on the verge of collapse: it was a bit dilapidated!

Either way, with a 52,000 stadium, Everton are definitely going for the tourist day-outers. Another traditional Prem club giving in to plastic.
It's another era. And a proper shit one, too.

Kenzo - yeah, that's probably why they are pursuing it. I read in the Echo (my old haunt) that Goodison could be extended up to 44,000 seats with a re-fit, but the new place looks like it would hold 50,000 to 52,000.
I'm not sure Everton would fill 52,000 at Prem prices. They'd have to slash prices like we did, and possibly by more percentage-wise.
They'll also need to completely redevlop the Bramley-Moore dock - there is feck all else around there. The Titanic Hotel is south of the dock, but there is almost nothing alongside it or north of it (except container storage for cargo and the port to Dublin).
It'll be a shame for them to lose Goodison - it's a good ground, proper atmosphere. I always preferred it to Anfield.

Can't see where they could add another 15k seats, its a tight ground and within a housing community

I'll crowbar this in here.
Yul Brynner (not many people know this) was a massive liverpool fan and hated after shave.
In fact, Yul never wore cologne.

I used to go to Goodison when I lived in Liverpool. It’s a good ground, in desperate need of an upgrade. They should keep it: crowd close to the pitch, in the area where the blues fans live etc.
Surely they’ve seen what happened to us?

Apologies - that should say “far from a done deal”.
