Felipe Anderson - gone
It’s Looking likely that he will be rejoining Lazio on a free transfer (I’m guessing any outstanding payment we owe them will be waived)

It’s a shame as there is definitely a good player in there but it just never worked out.

Anyone going to miss him?

Gerry Anderson would've put in more effort after the first season.

It was always funny how the cameraman at every world cup used to focus on the stunning Brazilian ladies in the crowd who obviously had the money to pamper themselves and travel to the game in the first place.

We grew up thinking all of them must be stunning...turns out they have just as many gnarly ones as anybody else!

I suppose Anderson would be equivalent to the Ford Probe or Capri. Looked the part but then riddled with rust after a year or two and the exhaust falling off|

Yes Chim, Chim Leroys et al

The "Brazilian" brand is a bit like Mercedes . Once it was an elite car which differentiated itself in the market via the quality of its build, performance, materials used but now is no different from a Ford, Vauxhall etc.

All came frpm the 70s Brazil team perhaps? Their best one.
Pele, Jarzinho, Rivallino, Carlos Alberto

Leroy,

The Brazilians are the masters of creating a flourishing export market.

Put a player on for ten minutes in a meaningless game and his value rockets.

'he's a Brazil international' puts literally millions on his transfer fee.

The West Ham media machine went in to overdrive when we signed him, and we all lapped it up

None of us had a scooby who he was !!

Yet we were convinced he was a Messiah, he's Brazilian, so must be good

It was at Bramall Lane, I was there that evening.

He had one of his best performances at Southampton in a 2-1 win for us, scoring both goals. But, as you say, it went totally downhill after Sheffield away.

He was never a world beater and was always a strange signing as he wasn’t a regular for Lazio. He did have a decent spell for us but was truly awful towards the end. I get the feeling his attitude was wrong too as Moyes just wanted rid of him. Similar to Haller.

Pellegrini wasted a lot of money, and made a hell of a lot for himself and his staff.

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
He didn't seem like bad business at the time. Its just shame his form (and attitude) dropped of a cliff half way through that first season.

Not sure if its because we were struggling generally or he reaslised that we weren't the world beating team the Daves had sold us to him as. Maybe he'll suddenly become a world beater again at Lazio. Whatever, good riddance we don't need passengers or talented Divas, we've had our share in recent seasons.

Alan Devonshire was half his size and had hard tackles every other 5 minutes thrown at him.

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
I remember him ghosting past players with nonchalant ease when he first joined. A lovely player who made it all look so easy. I was genuinely excited when he got on the ball.

Then somehow it all went to shit. It really does prove that football is all in the head as there's no doubt that there's a footballer hiding somewhere in him.

Some people just don't get on with the English game and struggle with the culture. When you watch Pablo Fornals it's the complete opposite. At first I thought he'd never make a Premier League player but he had a good word with himself and I now love the kid's industry and fight.

He was talked about as a 50m player attracting top clubs after the first season. I remember pundits raving about him even though I thought that was a bit over the top as amongst the brilliance were a few tepid performances.

Lets hope it opens the door for a decent replacement to be signed that will have an impact.

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
I remember when we signed him those who that watched him in Italy said he was frustratingly inconsistent so no surprise that he was frustratingly inconsistent at West Ham.

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
It all seemed to change for Anderson after a home game against Stoke? ( red and white striped mob so could have been Southampton and Sheff Utd hadnt come up yet). Anyway, some lad from ( lets say Stoke ) made one of those scissor leg style tackles that now get you booked or sent off. He went right thru the back of Anderson who was out for weeks.

From then on he hid or at least it looked that way. May just have been a coincidence but he didnt play one decent game after that.

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
Anderson is a weird one - it seems more now like he had a random purple patch for us for a bit of his first season, it’s so hard to see how that player was the same as one who couldn’t even beat a league one full back in the league cup last season. He was terrible in those games. His problems must be in his head - for a time he was excellent

It’s a pragmatic approach to cut your losses - we’d have made some money on him in a loan fee last season and won’t have to pay the final payment for him this season so it’s not as bad as just running his contract down or lining him out again this time around

As mush as I want to blame Sullivan or Pellegrini for this signing , he started off on fire then no idea what happened but just ended up a flake.

Real bad signing but who was to know after the first season I thought we had a great player.
Second season crapper than a crap stand.
