Getting the train from Stratford International after an evening match?
Im planning on getting train from SI to Kings Cross after the Vienna match. Never done that before... Can anyone who's done it advise if there are big queues at SI, are the trains packed?

I mean after you get past the bridges and the StopGo boards obviously.

I need to explain properly what a rip off this is and I wont use it and extra £5 quid for a normal speed

For lines in different directions the easy one is up and down. Up is always to the main city. So if you are going from Glasgow to London its the up line and down in the opposite direction

The normal 4 track configuration up fast, down slow, up slow and down fast

The slow train stop at nearly all the stations and the fast would be the express that stop at major stations only

The higher "High speed fares" are a piss take as 125 mph is not high speed and that's the maximum the track geometry is designed for. Minimum HSR roughly 177mph or 250 kph . The 3 I worked on were 300 Kph or 200mph

I am off Thursday and Friday. I still have a place in N17 but I will probably go back to Gravesend via London Bridge. In no rush

Definitely good advice to avoid the stop/go route. Head North then before you get to the Copperbox swing a right and follow the road back towards Westfield. Left at the car park brings you to the station entrance. Can get a surprisingly good beer at Tap East if you've got time.

Done this a couple of times. Basically walked right onto the platform without stopping and aside from waiting a few mins for the train, got on the first one that comes and straight to KX. People tend to all stand near the platform entrance so that part is always stupidly crowded, but if you walk down o the end it's usually pretty empty.

Also, to get there quicker leave the stadium from the North bridge. Much quieter.

Fifth,

In the same boat but heating East which, in theory should make things easier as is a direct link out.

Booked the Vomit Comet out of Liverpool Street to give me plenty of time.

Hoping that's enough.

Azel when you say going north do you mean towards Kings Cross?

Re: Getting the train from Stratford International after an evening match?
Going North always looks ok, going to or Via Ebbsfleet though is a joke!
They lay on six carriage trains when its busiest, and that are going via every stop between SI and Ramsgate. Then, once the majorty are clear we get a twelve carriage going just one stop away to Ebbsfleet.
Madness.

Re: Getting the train from Stratford International after an evening match?
Might be exacerbated by the Vienna fans getting the direct train back to Vienna after the match.
