For a 79 year old man, he looks in fantastic health at the moment. Long may it continue.

Love the fact that Martin Peters ashes are interred in the foundations of this. Often the unsung hero of the three of them.
Sure I read that with his Alzheimer's, the only place that he came alive and more his old self was at the old stadium.
It is easy for people to think that because he played for Spurs that he wasnt a true Hammer, but in his day, after their playing or managerial careers these players had to carve out a living. Both Martin Peters and Geoff Hurst spent a time working in insurance.

oioi 10.41 I was also there in '65 so the statue like yourself will bring the memories flooding back. It was only 56 years ago :) Hope to get a pic too tonight.

Ah, so it is. The fence in the background threw me. Handily that's where I go into the stadium so I'll check it out later.

At a guess, somewhere in the South West corner? Really not sure though.
Also, just read that some of Martin Peters' ashes are buried in the foundations. Nice touch.

It does look like one of the better statues...

Alan Sealey should've been included - I think he was stood next to Martin Peters in the actual photo this is taken from so wouldn't have been difficult!

Love it. I was at Wembley for the ECWC Final so walking past the statue every home game will bring back fond memories.
Might get my picture taken in front of it tonight.

When Tottenham won the ECWC in 1963 I believe that fewer teams participated in the competition and that there was one less round, compared to when we won it.

Spurs were the first British club to win a European trophy, WHU were the second, Celtic were the first British club to win the European Cup and Man U were the first English club to win it
