I was there in the shed with a mate who supports Chelsea.

It was Easter weekend and my friend told me I hadn’t seen the true Chelsea. He persuaded me to go and see QPR v Chelsea on the Monday to see how they can really play.
QPR 6 - 0 Chelsea
I still laugh with him about it!

Had migrated to my sadly missed spiritual home of the East Upper by then. Another memorable game but still blanking the previous season's equivalent.

Re: Were any Whoers at this game ?
Yeah, and that was my first time at Chelsea, a young 15 year old. I knew Chelsea had a reputation, so as I got off the tube at Fulham Broadway, wondering if it might be a bit dodgy, I was instantly reassured as what seemed the whole crowd on the platform (no scarfs or colours), burst out with Bubbles, and we bowled out the station and to the ground without so much as a peep from the HeadGivers, er Hunters.

Then the match. Champagne football on a field of shit. One team in London, with West Ham here, West Ham there, West Ham fucking everywhere!

I’d give one of my bollocks to have days out like that again.

If you see it from another angle Cottee miskicked it - might've been a shot lol

That second was a superb team effort from the break

Modern day footballers wouldn’t have lasted 10 minutes on that pitch !

Re: Were any Whoers at this game ?
That 2nd goal would be wanked about something silly nowadays if it were scored by one of the so called big teams.

State of the kits, classic old school pitch 😄

That open away end was fucking awful

Re: Were any Whoers at this game ?
Yes.

The away supporters were in the open away end and at one stage snow and sleet came down. Devo’s goal was scored at our end and I saw the flight of the ball going towards our goal and nothing was going to stop it.

It has always been my favourite ever match at Stamford Bridge, apart from the 1975 semi-final replay.

I was reminiscing with an old mate yesterday about our visit to the Bridge for the 5-5 draw in 1966

Re: Were any Whoers at this game ?
Yes Sidey... that's the one... it was almost as long a lock in as the time we went there in 91? Clive Allen's first goal for us ... lost 1.2... kin awful game of football... shit atmosphere... people were having sweepstakes at teh amount of jets flying over from Heathrow and that was far more exciting than the 90 mins served up ... and then they kept us locked in for an hour... in which time a good lot of Stamford Bridge got smashed up... thought afterwards bollocks to that and never returned to SB since... shit hole

As an aside I Just finished Nevins autobiography. Cracking read. Really interesting bloke. I’d recommend it. Not your normal football book.

Re: Were any Whoers at this game ?
Yep

Great day from leaving mile end

To walking from south Kensington

To sitting in their seats and taking the piss

How great we played

One of the best days ever being a hammer

Side of Ham 4:13 Tue Oct 5
Re: Were any Whoers at this game ?
I was at that one as well Sold, wasn't it their first season back in the first division? Ultimately their beating of us (or Nevins beating of us) on the pitch lead to ours taking the Shed in a proper easy fashion......I remember being locked in for over an hour afterwards in the pissing rain which further pissed us off.
