Noble - one more season?
On the back of his superb performance against Man City, there’s talk of Noble not retiring at the end of this season after all and giving us one more season.

It’s clear that he’s still got exceptional fitness levels, running rings around players 10 years his junior and I think he’s deputised expertly when called upon this season.

So if we get in Europe again next season, I can see him again being a valuable commodity as a squad player who can come in when called upon.

Thoughts?

Great post as always, Mex.

Re: Noble - one more season?
I thought his first touch and passing was amongst the best on our team against Arsenal. Obviously hasn't lost his ability to hold onto the ball either. But he is a bit slow and doesn't have stamina to keep running a whole game, let alone lots of games together.
I wouldn't mind him as squad player, but we should be signing new players...

"I'm sure Coventry could take Krals roll in the squad and do a better job."

better job of what? getting splinters in his backside permanently sitting on the bench? the only time he's been given has been alongside the mannequin mark in the cup, and a total of one (ONE) minute on the pitch in the premier league

Mingewell,

You are literally advocating starting him in our biggest game in 40 years on the ‘team for’ thread.

Re: Noble - one more season?
There are people on the ‘team for Frankfurt’ thread putting him in their starting line up for our Europa League semi-final 2nd leg, so that tells you all you need to know.

The above from the man who put Yarmolenko in his team pick. Ag Ag Ag.

No,

Sign a midfielder to seriously compete with Soucek atleast.

I'm sure Coventry could take Krals roll in the squad and do a better job.

With the Europa Conference League looking likely for next season, I really think keeping Mark around for one more season would be a good idea.

His legs have gone as we all know . But he can seriously still pick out a pass.

Re: Noble - one more season?
Think if we'd had full stadia last season he would have retired at the end of that one.
Need to replace him someone who will be in contention to start
Reported interest in Lewis O'Brien of Huddersfield (now up to 2nd in the Championship). 23yo born in Colchester, might be worth checking out in their FA Cup tie at Forest tomorrow night.

Re: Noble - one more season?
Nope.

He’s had a great career but time to move on.

Put him in a Director of the academy type role.

Noble, Yarmolenko, Fredericks & Ogbonna are all out of contract this summer and all should be moved on alongside ending Kral’s loan.

Then we need to bring in 6 new players. (7 if we don’t sign Areola permanently)

Left Back, centre back, 2 centre mids and 2 forwards.

When he came on yesterday it looked like a bloke from the crowd running on.
